allmost all liners are "heat moldable". All the heat mold does is remove the worst of the breaking in period that comes from buying new boots. If the service comes free with the boot purchase then Id say go for it, if not its not 100% nessary

^i dont agree with that, but perhaps u know more than me. most boots have extra layers of foam that expand a lot when put under heat, and the will form as they cool, therefore molding them. i do not believe that the SPK's are heat moldable.

it depends on the boot... i'd say you're both right.
all most all boots have certain sections or amounts of the liner foam that can sorta shift to the shape of your foot but if you don't get it heated up in the shop it's no big deal because it still happens over time of wear. and yeah even if the liners aren't "custom" the heat process will still help break them in a bit. The spk liners are sooo soft and comfy though, softest flex ever, i wasn't keen.

So, do you believe I need to go and have them molded if it's possible? I would have to pay for it seeing as my shop didn't carry the SPK.

On salomonfreestyle.com it says, "Maximum customization with three layers of thermoformable foam on the ankle, heel, meta, tongue & sole for perfect comfort and transmission."

Since I didn't buy them from my shop, I would have to pay. Is it really worth it?

Ok, noob question coming up:
How many degrees do you heat them in?

you dont, you put them on little boot warmer thingies that make them hot at set a timer.
just go to your shop and ask them if they'll do you a favor and throw your boots on the heater thing so you can do it, if they charge you for it they suck balls it takes them about 25 seconds of work.
