the parents had to have done something wrong for the kids to want to do drugs???? what the hell are you talking about? i'm sorry to fly off the edge like this, but think about what you said. i've done a few different drugs, and smoke weed regularly. my parents did nothing wrong. they have supported everything i've ever done, and have constantly been a source of encouragement.. but even the most supportive environment can't take away the curiosity that exists in a person's mind. i am extremely glad that i was never persuaded by those government sponsored propaganda reels.. i wouldn't even want to think where i would be right now had i never smoked my first joint. probably in a corner worried about what the flourescent lighting might be doing to my brain. the point is that every person has their vices - for some it's coffee, others have sugar.. i choose marijuana. nothing wrong with that, except that there is a gigantic stigma attached to any 'user'. hopefully we as a generation can eradicate such a ridiculous notion relating to non 'hardcore' drug use.

i think you can crash from being drunk
but you cant crash from being high

getting high dosnt affect your decision making capabilites, it just calms you down and mellows you out.

Are drugs really bad for a society?

Thats a very hypothetical question and it really depends on yer viewpoint.
Drugs have been used since the beginning of time in order to explore other portion of the untapped mind.
Take for example Socrates, a reverred philosopher of the ancient world. His work has been studied for thousands of years, he is the recipient of much praise for his genius and inquisitive mind. This man was also a user. In ancient Greece noble men from with a society were taken to a theater, and given a physcadelic. They then sat back and enjoyed a play which then sparked the mind, the men reeled and thought. They would leave this experience behind, sworn to never talk abuot it. However, Socrates did and continued to use the drug while he worked on philosophy.

Also, take the Rig Veda. For those of you who dn't know it is a book written by the first Hindu's it formulized their beliefs. Within this there are approximately 1200 prayers. Abotu 120 of these prayers are dedicated to a certain plant, which the creators of the hindu religion regularly used while writing down the prayers. The plant was a physcadelic. Strange to think that a book, reverred by thousands of people, the guiding light of nearly all India is based off of the the trips of a few monks.

Like it or not, drugs have played a huge part in molding our society. While viewed as a social taboo that have been inclusive in molding philosophy and new ideas. Drug use is more common than most people think, however, its dangers are often overplayed by government. The government recieves money from the big alcohol and tobacco industries. Those industries' products kill hundreds of thousands of people a year. Yet, direct use of marijuana has never killed anyone. Legalization is held back by industrial money and social taboo. It is my contention that our society needs to open its eyes a little more and explore more intimately the world, from a new set of eyes.
Pretty amazing, the effect of drugs within society.

Sorry if you're angry, but given the testimony of Ecstasy users themselves -- not to mention footage shot inside events where Ecstasy use was widely present -- makes clear that the items are associated with Ecstasy, and as the spot suggest, if a parent sees that his or her teen has these items, then he or she should not automatically assume the items are just innocent. They may be -- repeat, may be -- a sign of a problem, so rather than simply assuming everything is all right, the idea is that parents should be asking questions and making sure they understand what's going on in their teens' lives.

OK. Let me just say that I have never done drugs and I stronly discourage the harder drugs. anyway, I think your ecstasy commercial is stupid! I am enraged about it! It shows some pictures of candy and a bright colored backpack and it says 'These look so inocent but, when they are owned by a teenager they can be a sign of ecstasy use.' that is so stupid! it is like saying that is your teen ownes candy than he or she could do ecstasy! infact that basically exactly what it is saying. Atleast that is what I got out of it and if that is not the point you were trying to pass on thatn you should change it to be more straight folward.
