Switch problems!

I have a problem when it comes to riding and spinning switch...

you see... everytime i spin (not switch) I spin to the left, but when i ride switch it is impossible for me to look over my left shoulder, i have to look over my right shoulder and everytime i take off a jump riding switch i end up spinnig to the right looking over my right shoulder... Since this becomes an unnatty spin I cant do rather more than switch 1 and 3 (I aint that good too).. Have tried to learn how to ski switch looking over my left shoulder, but its just like writing with my left hand when i am righthanded...

Anyone with the same problem?

I have a friend that is 29 that always looked over the right sholder and spun to the left...that is a long time ridding one way. what he has done is just go to the mountain and ride switch all day alternating shoulders. at the end of the day you will feel alot better...dont try jumping first day. then go out the next day and right away go into a jump looking over your other shoulder and it should feel ok. Give it a try

you mean that you turn your body towards left when your on the lip of the jump, even though you looked over your right shoulder, or that you spin lefty without looking to the left (which i btw thought was impossible reminding that the way you look desides how you spin)

i think rory bushfield does the think i mentioned first

Had the same problem once.

then just forced my head to left while skiing swich. after a week or so i forgot how to ski fakie while looking over the right shoulder. So just learn to look to left. once u get used to it there is no difference where u look.

Here's what I do. When I'm riding, I do a lot of switch carving alternating looking over each shoulder and it gets easier and easier. You just need to force yourself to look over that shoulder. Go really slow at first do it on an easy trail. Then once you get your confidence up with it take it steeper and steeper. You will notice it getting easier and easier. Just practice it.

train train train! what helps is to ski straight down looking over the unat shoulder! if you learn how do it while in a turn it wont help you much.. cause then you will auto turn when skiing straight over that shoulder.. so just ski alot with your head the wrong way! practice practice practice!!!

i would definatly say just re-learn how to ski switch with your head over the shoulder, just go out a few days and switch off and as it progresses, eliminate the rigth shoulder it's all about practice, either that or practice unnatural spins and get good at those

just practice looking over the other shoulder a lot and you should be fine within a day or two

i have/had the same problem. Everyone is right all you have to do is practice the other way and it will get better. im still not extremely comfortable with it but i know im gettin better at it. My hill just needs more freakin snow

like everyone else has said: PRACTICE! get out of the park and take runs practicing alternating shoulders. if you can't just ski comfortable switch, how do you expect to be able to stomp shit off jumps switch?

i got the same problem. i figure i'll just keep spinning right switch and that'll just be practice for unnatty forward spins, and spinning both ways forward is pimp.

i look over my left shoulder so going in switch to rails im prety good at left foot forward but i cant go in switch to a natural grind

offset your skis so you can adjust ur body turning rather then just ur head. idk if that made sense.

Put a patch over your right eye. then you will have to look over your left shoulder.

ill add 2 this.... so i tend 2 ride with a wide switch stance, and fluctuate between my right ski and left ski higher up and turn my body 2 either song along with my head. my friend though does the same but has a narrower stance and says its way easier. so go for it

go down your bunny hill or the easyest trail on your mountain and learn it will be sooo much easyer i had this same problem i no it hard but do it..

well there is one more thing u can try.

When skiing fakie i allways have my stance thatway that i have one foot front and the otherone a bit back. I think everyone who skiis fakie does that. So when skiing fakie just push jour left foot back and bring your right foot front. it makes your looking over the right shoulder quite impossible and looking over your left shoulder quite comforable.

And while learning you should try swiching the legs and sides of your head. Learning to carve both sides and so on. And at first push your legs far back and far front. it may look funny as hell to others but once you get the trick you'l fing the right stance for urself.
