Ok, soo i go to the ski equiment thread from time to time to help the kids out there know their shit. Sometimes i like to look at whats for sale, and try to sell some of my own shit. Ive noticed something pretty funky in that thread.
Everytime something really good comes on sale ( Oakley puffy pants, AR5/AR6s, Salomon boots.....etc) i see a buch of these kids show up with their "member since" tag being that day, and they have little to no post count. I dunno about you guys, but i thought this was a site to talking about skiing, metting other skiers and shit, not a swap site. Although we do have that now ( and in my opinion is sucks balls). Plus like when i post something for sale on NS, i want a fellow NSer to buy it first, not some kid looking to snipe some cheep gear.
This maybe a very old thing, and if so, i will jump off the roof of my house......ok maybe not house, but i might eat some overly hot food on purpose as punishment.

oh, i know, i find those people sketchy as they have no reference to their credibility as no one's really going to defend someone who has 50% of their posts saying how much?

yeah...what pisses me off is i try to buy some gear off of someone on NS, and he sells it to someone who has never ever been on this site before.

well theres also the thing about trying to find trustworthy members before you actually sell something to somebody or to buy something. If someone that has only been here for a month then I prolly wouldnt sell or buy from them because i cant really trust them.

we should make a new member of the month thing aka "Noob of the month", to give credibility to new members that prove to be trust worthy and consistently contribute with help and opinions to this site.

idunno, i know some kids that know of ns but arent members and since its a very popular ski site that is checked often i think it would be a good to get the word out about your stuff. but i understand the credibility thing too.

If I'm dealing with someone I have never heard of before, I usually request them to complete their end of the transaction first. If it's someone I know or who I see frequents NS, I'm fine with paying them before they ship.
Although we have seen this doesn't always work
