does he really have to explain why he thinks something is stupid? people have opinions. i just dont think people should be doing like soul grinds but if they are sick theni dont care i just think people should do ... youll see...
i used to rollerblade and some of the style in it is way sick. i know a kid who was in a ski comp and should have won but lost cause the judges said he had to much rollerblade steez. that is stupid!! if u think these grinds are gay, then just try them. they are way hard. id say keep doin them cause it makes the sport so much more creative. which is wut we all need.
there is so much progression left into nosepressing and tailpressing, and buttering that i think we are overlooking. it opens aton of doors and makes us able to pwn snowbored n00bs.
mmm correct me if im wrong but, didnt rail slides come from the rollerbladers "frontside grind"? and uhh, where do you think switch ups came from? face it, skiing is made up already of some rollerblade tricks.
how in the hell does that look stupid it looks so tight... rollerblade grinds are very stylish... new innovative grinds are always needed... switch ups get old after a while...
these new rollerblade grinds take more flexibility than most of the other tricks and when you fall u will fall twice as hard. we have to face it, we arrent on shoes with wheels, we have 70cm of ski in the front and back which will constantly slow us down and catch on stuff broken grinds also wear down your edges 5x faster than regular grinds. but proggression is the key right?
im on board but i still prefer regular grinds
ur a douche. that sarcasm wasnt even a little funny.
anyways, there is a reason that rollerblading gets a lot of hate these days and im sure it has something to do with the gay grinds. but i do like some of them- like broken grinds.
Well its justifiable because this thread has been made many times before and people should know that rollerblading is not even that gay. My friend rollerbladed for 7 years, went to woodward, starting snowbloading (gay, he knows...) then switched to skiing and now is a nasty skier, in just 3 years of skiing, he shreds parks to death. And don't worry, people won't be ddoing porn starts or anything...
well its pretty damn hard or impossible to do most rollerblade grinds, some are possible like crossing your skis, but seriously that is gay, its like when people do mutes on a 20 foot straight air.
the broken grinds look pretty cool, but they can also look dumb, in a couple years i bet we will have them down, i like the ones where you have both skis on the back edge, that can look cool.
and if you are trying to copy another sports grinds how is that progression? its just copying.
snowboard grinds are more possible than rollerblading grinds, nose/tail presses, stuff like pollards nosepress where he is going straight, like riding the box straight or switch and doing a nose or tail press, nobody does those and they could definatly look cool. or like how jf houle( i think) does little ovecrook looking grinds.
so dont limit it to rollerblade tricks i dont have a problem with some, but remember we are on boards not shoes, so it makes more sense to do snowboard type grinds cause so many more grinds are possible that way.
i know its probably a bad example, but like, thats the ugliest thing ive ever seen, and you just do them like they look, except you cant put too much pressure on your edge, especially if youre on a box because you will stop really quickly
Individual styles make it wrong for anyone to judge a trick or sport(ones that require the person to be creative, individual, and progressive like skiing, snowboarding inline, and skateboading) cool or none cool by only looking at one individual. Tricks that are cool now can still look bad and ones that are not cool can look good. It just takes the right style and skill.
People cannot claim rollerblading is gay by looking at one individual. They can claim that that individual looks gay but until they see everyone, they can't say that the entire sport is gay if they are making their judgement by things that differ from each individual such as style, skill level, or his/her tricks. If someone does this it is claiming everyone in the sport is like that individual which by watching any movie about these sports you can see that that is obviously not true. The same thing applies to trick with any of these sports.
