I think that all that bold hurted my eyes! Oh yeah, what do you ski? Is this your all park ski. If its all park, True centre, if its all mnt, -1 or -2 of true centre.

factory mount for the chronic is like 5.5cm back from center i believe.. personally i would never ride the chronic dead center b/c i simply dont need that much stiff tail.
2-3 back is pretty good but i think you will do fine if you leave them at factory, doesnt matter that much

Believe it or not a lot of research goes into a recommended mounting point. The flex of a ski is usually based around the recommended mounting point so that you are able to perform the best with it. Sure there are a lot of people who center mount but not even pros do it that often. They are usually at least 1 or 2 cm back from the center because not everyone is a park rat. If you want to ski pretty much anything other than park than center mount probably isn't the best. Your skis will be quite squirrelly anywhere else and the flex is messed up. Personally I would just leave it, especially if u are getting invaders for your park skis.

yeah thats pretty far back..i think...looks it..yea idk..I just would like more tail on them to learn switch makes it easier..and its fun...so yea maybe true is alot of tail..dont know...maybe then ill do 1.5 back or 2 back from true..that will move the bindings up like 4.5 to 4cm from the 5.5 u mentioned..

Ok....lesson time kids. On ANY nonsemetrical ski centre mounting is SHIT. Screws the turning radius, flex, switch skiing, pretty much the whole ski. When you have a ski with a that is nonsemetrical the flex, camber, turning radius is all design with that mounting point in mind. When you centre mount that these kinds of skis well it will ski like crap, all stability will be gone, screw your skiing position, and hurt your knees. Unless you are a near pro status, or these are rail only skis you never need to centre mount, or have bindings with out risers. At that skill level you will never notice.
Same thing with tiny kids with huge skis. I think that is the most stupid thing ever. Kids seeing pros with long skis thinking they will do better with huge skis. Im 180 lbs/6 1 and 176 cms is perfect for a park ski.

I'm on 187 chronic wides, and I mounted them 3cm back from true center and they ride fine... They're my park skis though. I would think that anything less than 3 back would make the ski ski like shit. As it is, it sometimes skis really sloppily when icy. If I were you, I'd leave them at recommended, you'll have enough tail for switch and you'll have enough bite to ski all mountain perfectly.

again the invaders arent mine...so i dont have a park ski...it sucks its the 3rd mount if i do it again..the other guy at the shop freeskis too and he said ittle be ok for it..since there soo thick and strong..plus i know they wont sell after 3 mounts but i dont plan on sellin them after i get new skis next yr..ill keep em since there rare..so if i dont keep the recommend mount.. im not goin so far forward ill do -2.5 from true..3cm up from the recommended mount point..if its 5.5 like u guys said..its inbeetween recommented and true..so wont mess to much of the flex and riding up..then itlle be good everywhere..on the mountain and park and rails.

seriously its only one centemeter. stop bitching and go skiing.
you could have spent all that time learning how to ride switch, so then there would be a point to obsess about center mounting as much as you NOOBs

1) you ski jay peak. you dont need a center mounted ski. its not gonna make a difference in learning things in the park. get over it. go ski some woods.
2) the ski has already been mounted twice. the chances of you actually being able to have it mounted exactly where you want are slim. you have to leave at least 1cm between the older holes and the new ones youre gonna drill. a third mount is not great for the ski, especially if you havent even skied it yet. leave it where it is now.
