even when the skis are waxed (the right way that is) you should be able to feel the micro grooves.... but if you cant scrape any wax off of the base or edges you should wax em up.
Wax your skis after everytime out. Keeps the bases in much better shape not to mention you'll be sliding down the hill better. If your not gonna use your skis or if its the last day of the season, scrape off a little bit of the wax and keep some on the ski. Then when you go skiing next, all you have to do is scrape off the wax and your good to go.
