I want to be able to play my ipod over the speakers in my car, does this gadget do that, or does it only allow me to play the radio on my ipod? Also, does the $20 rebate apply after the purchase, so it would only be $6?

if you have a tape player in your car, i've seen people buy these casette-looking things and they put in the tape player, and then there's a cord that plugs into where your headphones go and it plays your ipod over the speakers.
if you dont have a tape player, i've also seen these things you put in your lighter and you chose an empty radio station and it just plays your music over the speakers
i know that's a really shitty explanation of the two, and it probably made no sence, but if you go to target or radioshack or something, they're usually right next to where the ipods are. i think the cig. lighter one is pretty expensive.

does what thing work?
i use a cassette and a radio transmitter, the cassetre works better because there is no interference, but the cig lighter one is sometimes the only option if you dont have a cassette thing

cassete thing is best because you don't have static. if you use a radio transmitter. (thats what i use) then you have to find a completely open radio station, but then while your driving you get closer to an actual station and start gettin staticky, also if you do under tunnels and are near telephone wires then you get static. i don't like mine. if you got the cash then get somethin that plugs straight into your radio, but you might have to buy a new radio which sucks. but if you have a tape deck, definitely go with that

You have 3 options:
1. Tape Adapter, best choice if you have a tape deck.
2. FM transmitter (iTrip ect(there are tons of different ones))
3. AUX plug in. Some new cars or newer decks have these(see the new VWs) but this is very rare, and by far the best way.
They all work, FM transmitters kinda suck but they work if you get a good station.

these are the best
i got one that cost more than that for my birthday cause my old cd player broke and its the best thing ever. it plays mp3 cds and regular cds and i can plug my ipod into it and it plays perffectly. also it makes the sound so good in your car when compared to a stock stereo player, everything comes out so much clearer and i get surprisingly good bass feedback from it for not having subs. i would recommend this so much for anyone whos looking for a new cd player

Seriously? Its not hard. Just tune your car radio to a blank radio station, then do your tuner thing to it too, and then voilĂ…. or just get a monster cable like that one guy said. theyre easy.

im not even kidding, if u buy cheap, sometimes it'll work. i agree wit the monster wire idea, it's better than trying to fit a big clunky fm adapter into ur lighter adapter without it hitting other shit or blockin shit off, some dont even fit due to car design.
