iTunes wont even let me import vids. It is version 7 or higher, but when I click import, nothing happens. there are a couple vids in the library already and it wont let me even watch them. Also my iPod is formatted for Windows. Are they bought with a selected format or can I change it to Mac?

hey guys, for the 1st poster in this, you can use it on your mac or windows machine, they are not made for one or the other. it will ask you if you want to reformat it for mac and you simply click yes.
as far as your videos go, make sure they are formatted for ipod in the first place, then try copying them over. you can't really just drag a dvd image over onto the ipod or anything. however, if you do have dvd's you want to put on your ipod, google a program for mac called Handbrake and it lets you rip dvd's to ipod format very easily. feel free to ask any other questions, and you mine as well do it here so other people can see the answers too! hope i helped a little

thanks dude, I already have handbrake and all, but its still not working!
I cant importinto iTunes at all. I click import, and choose my vid, and nothing happens. I know I need to make it iPod format but I need to do it in iTunes.'
I also tried exporting a FCP vid in iPod format, then tried importing that, but still nothing happened. Also, when I try to drag the compressed vid to my iPod in iTunes (from a finder window) it says that videos cannot be played on that iPod, even though I know it can.
and when I try to reformat it, it doesnt ask if I want it for mac or PC. It just automaticly does it for PC.

for importing your vid, why dont you try just dragging it into your movies playlist, thats what i do and it works well, no need for going the long way with import...movie... cause it never works anywya
for the second thing, i have no idea why it doesnt work...maybe try getting it into itunes first, or maybe converting it with isquint (mac) even if its already supposed to work on your ipod.
for the reformating thing, well i guess it doesnt ask you if you want it for mac or pc cause youre already on a mac or on a pc so it'll reformat for the kind of computer on which youre actually reformating
hope i helped

I have tried dragging it into my movies playlist also.
this sucks cause I dont have internet on my mac (editing comp) so I can only reformat when its plugged into a pc.
