Ive had a pair of K2 fujatives for a few weeks now and already i am seeing signs of wear like rust, dings, dull edges(thats not really a bad thing though). what can i do to make these skis last as long as possible. Dont say not grinding cause im not gonna do that
not slamming onto rails will help. try to get on smoothly without popping up high and slamming down. your edges wont rip out as quickly. also, detuning your edges underfoot supposedly helps keep your edges intact longer on rails.
i usually wax every 3 days or so as well. and during the summer, hot wax your skis but dont scrape them, that will protect the edges and keep your bases from drying out.
if you get any core shots or major scratches, get them p-texed as quickly as possible. if there are any chips on your topsheet that expose the core, fill them with epoxy. if you really want to protect your topsheets, you could get them taped, but where i am it is hard to find a shop that does that.
