is it a problem if a shop said they would grind down the screws to be used on px12s without the lifter or should they really be ordering shorter ones from look?

no...they can grind them down..its safe

as long as they know what they're doing and don't strip out a hole its fine, they key is to actually tap the whole because when you grind the screws down they aren't self tapping anymore

I don't know if I'd be so trusting, I'd find out if the person doing the work has ever done a mount like that before

not true at the end of the grinded down screw you just make it taper
