i've heard stories of this crazy old man who lives on one of the island far north in the canadian arctic.
they say that long ago he was a normal man, but then a terrible accident killed his family and left him deformed. with nowhere to turn he went north to look for acceptance from the inuit, but they thought he was an evil spirit come to disease their villages so the man found solitude north of everyone.
they say he thinks he can talk to the animals. although the only things that live up there are reindeer and polar bears (and lets just say the polar bears arn't as cozy as they look).
i hope i never run into the guy.

Another fun fact. Christmas trees did not become a big tradition in English speaking countries until World War One veterans began mimicking their German counterparts who passed on the tradition of decorating and putting up trees when they could in their trenches
