Double Flips... The New Trend?

It seems like for the past few years, people have been putting down double flips of all sorts. I have read people saying "they are dead, no one does them any more" "they have no style" "double flips would never hold up in a competition." I do not terribly disagree with the last statement about not holding up in competitions, but everyone I have talked to picks Rory's switch double back for the gold. We see a new variation of a double flip, "The Kangaroo Flip," performed by Jon Olsson, winning a huge competition recognized throughout the industry. We see the amazing new Matchstick Productions Film, PUSH, displaying Mike Wilson's double back off of a cliff, and his insane triple back, and also Rory's infamous switch double back. It seems as though more and more people are doing double flip variations and brings me back to my title> Double Flips... The New Trend? I think so boys and girls.

i think your right, wiether its a switch double or a regular double, these do take some skill so i dont see why one couldnt win a comp. what i really want to see now is a double D-Spin, that would be crazy.

Double corks and d-spins are what snowboarders seem to be rocking right now, and they look SO good. I bet at least this year, and for sure next year, everyone will be doing the double corks. Hyper spins are out, I would rather see a double cork 9 with a smooth grab than a hucked 14.
