yo he was with others, yo gotta check the snow pack and conditions once you are out of bounds, then go from there. Thats where he was caught, not cause he was alone.
At least make this guys death be worth something and if you dont know what you are doing, start your season right and be honest with yourself and TAKE A CLASS! Knowing how to read a slope/snowpack will save your life.
R.I.P. Blake was a sick sick skier he rode for High Society and was always tearing everything from park to backcountry apart. he will be missed more than I can say
yeah, he ducked a rope inbounds and set off the slide. correct me if i'm wrong, but wasn't it a permanately closed area, too?
you obviously feel bad for him/family/friends, but shit, fresh turns aren't always worth it. like others have said, learn what you're doing, at least get a basic understanding of snowpack/how snow works. just b/c you're inbounds doesn't mean that everything is perfect.
and dying in an avalanche would suck. especially if you got caught up in the trees like that guy apparently did.
is he an aspen local? and if so for how long? cause theres a dude named blake (dont know last name) that i met last year who was really good at skiing and said he was going to ski this season in aspen...cause if that was him all i got to say is R.I.P.
your a fucking faggot if you can even show some respect and think its funny to joke about deaths, hopefully someone close to you dies so you can learn how it feels asshole
come on guys be nice. he was a very very good friend to two of our park crew members. they got the call about 3pm-ish thursday and it was a big blow not just to them but to the entire crew. they aren't just friends, their family and in this industry when someone goes down it's felt by everyone. I wish no one would have to go through this over christmas, so our prayers are with his family and friends.
