I just got my 4FRNT 412 Deadbolts mounted on my 4FRNT VCTs. I skied on them for four days and the toe-piece broke. How shitty is that? Does anyone have any info on how to get my warranty replacement?
When I was a tech I heard a fair amounts of problems with the VIST toe pieces... Nordica used to do what 4frnt does now with these bindings and it doesn't seem to me that they have changed much in the past 4-5 years... the funny thing is everyone hated that binding when it was with nordica, now at least everyone here seems to love it.
to those that were asking NO all the 4frnt bindings are not constructed the same! The 412s and 614s are identical except for the stiffness of the springs. The 816s have a slightly different toepiece which has a vertical lockdown. So not a huge difference, but there is a difference. And, I like my 614s for the 1 time I have used them. I never use the skis they are mounted on unfortunately cause I would definitely rock them every day. I think on my next pair of park skis I will use them because they feel beefier than my sollys and the release feels smoother than my rossi axials.
You people arguing about what DIN binding he should've had are absolute morons. The only difference between the models is a spring, it wouldn't have made it any less likely to break.
wow that rep is full out trying to cover 4frnts ass. there is no way a kid that ways 126lbs. could set his din so high that he fucked up his bindings. the peice was definitely defective and it was a manufacturers error, not the kids fault.
First of all, even if you set your own DIN, your binding shouldn't fucking snap in half, it'll either release easier, or won't release as easy...that is all the DIN is for.
Second, as people said above, 4FRNT bindings are the exact same binding that Nordica integrated in their Beast line a few years back, all built by Vist, and I hate to tell you kids this...but Vist bindings(and therefore, 4FRNT bindings) aren't really all that great, they have a wider screw pattern than some other companies, which will help prevent rip-outs, but other than that, they aren't a super sturdy binding, so I don't know what would make people think they are 'bomb proof'...4FRNT skis certainly aren't.
Well I got my skis fixed like 2 months ago so its alright. Im riding my dins at a 7.5 now. During the New Mexico Extreme Comp I raised them. They are really good bindings, except for the brakes which are hard to fit around my VCT's.
