since it is around christmas time think about donating some of your stuff. I did it and the lady who I donated my jacket to said that the mom who got it for here child started to cry because she didnt think she could get anything nice. So just think about making someelses christmas a little better.
Good job dude, I'm surprised someone on here does that kind of thing. I worked at my Grandparents foodpantry on sunday, you help people, and it's actually alot of fun.
seriously someone should talk to ns and try to organize something that kids can send there old stuff to ns. then ns can distribute them or w/e. they should make it a sticky and everyone donate some stuff to ns so they can give it to the salvation army. think about how many ppl would benefit... and dont tell me it isnt possible, it wouldnt be that difficult
our homeroom adopted a less fortunate family, a 5 year old boy and his dad. We got them both lots of stuff,a nd tons of food. Their christmas is going to be great this year, and I (and the class) feel so happy that we are helping out...
At my highschool in student senate, ew collected money from the school for about 3 weeks(spare change, fundraisers, ect.) and then we went to wal-mart and spent almost $6000 on 5 familys.
word we do that for school with a group of friends. You serve food, eat and talk with the kids. Theyre all pretty chill. And then after we play dodgeball. Most intense games of dodgeball ever. What better do you have to do on a week night.
yeah me and a big group of friends are helping out a family. We asked for donations in our church, and got a lot of money. we all went to target and bought the little kids clothes and toys and the parents some stuff that they need. also like food and stuff. its so sad cuz they only live in a 2 BEDROOM HOUSE and have 2 families living there. so 8 kids total. and were going to their house sometime and going to give them a christmas to remember. and plus the feeling you get should be incentive enough for you to just get out there and do it. its awesome. I VOTE STICKY!!!
word. I'm not about to give out a mint jacket, but I have a closets full of old jackets and usually every year we take an armful down to salvation army
Im pretty sure that the salvation army does a good job getting clothing to those that are actually in need of it. Unless you have any specific circumstances where you found that it isnt a good idea, I would trust them. It definetly is an easy way to donate and do some good.
donating and helping out around the holidays is the way to go. too bad as a society we dont do it enough. salvation army resells the stuff that you donate, thats why its sketchy.
if anyone lives in the capital region, ny the mission here in albany is in desperate need of some stuff too. i'll be down there almost every weekend helping out.
no offense, its great what you guys did, but by shopping at walmart you helped contribute to a company that puts people in these underprivleged situations in the first place.
Just because they make people work and pay for their stuff isn't that bad of an idea. The idea of getting something for nothing only hinders their ability to get themselves into a better situation. Besides, it makes sense. They have to pay for the facility/electricity etc. Its a good philosophy.
