where is the best skiing in squaw valley, is it the k22 peak? and will that be open by January 4th?

I've been trying to get out to california all my life, and now i got a chance to and i don't think any of the good skiing will be open. Any insights?

there will probably be a good dump before then, and in tahoe it only takes one storm and everything is open.

for sure check out kt and rganite chief. if you're down to hike and theres any fresh snow, hike granite peak to the right off of granite chief chair

Any place that's steep and has a lot of rocks, that's where the best skiing is. 58 bucks though not to mention it costs like 15,000 bucks for a can of coke. If your going to be out here for a couple of days than check out the cheaper alternatives like alpine or kirkwood and if you want park than northstar has good stuff, but it's a bitch on holidays and saturdays, I was stuck in a 2 hour traffic jam just to get past flatstar and on to alpine last new years, Sierra at tahoe is a less crowded alternative to northstar.

well it's going to be a shit show with all the crowds. I would recomend going early as possible and hitting up alpine or sierra or Kirkwood to avoid holiday crowds. But no matter were you go it will be more crowed than any other time of year. What are you looking to ski? park, powder.......ect

looks like KT and Granite should be open by time you get here, Siberia opened this morning and was about shin to knee deep in spots...

More on the way, just pray that it doesnt rain!

I am from Ct east cost

i am a park skiier over here but i am looking for redicilous steeps some cliffs, not anything really big but shit that i could throw some comfortable spins and tree skiing

i just want to skii the hardest alpine around any ideas

in that case: Kirkwood, Squaw, Sugar Bowl, and Alpine are the only places you should fox with unless the chutes at rose are open

dude, squaw is all hype, you'll see once you ski their for a day. Yeah, it's a huge resort, and impressive at first site but it's a huge resort with a lift system was laid out by 3 year old.

what do you want to ski?

park = northstar
pow = alpine
pipe = sierra
crowds = heavenly
traversing = squaw
far drive = kirkwood
night skiing = Breal

squaw you have to hike for alotta goods

for what its worth they are all sick and if you have any skills you will have fun at just about ANY mountain

does squaw have a good park open yet? i'm heading up to tahoe again this coming weekend and was planning to ski alpine/northstar. i have some friends that are only riding squaw so i was wondering if it's worth spending the money on a pass just for a day. just wondering overall ski conditions and if theres a park.

I've heard that squaw has a really good park right now, plus I think Squaw has some of the best all mountain skiing in Tahoe, so there is plenty to do outside the park as wel.

Snow was great for the contest...

Some big airs were dropped and soem sketchy tech lines were taken, but O'Meara took the cake with the 60 foot drop on the right side of The Gate. He shoulda won the SickBird Award, but I left before the awards ceremony.

There are still some good airs with fresh landings if you know where to look in the Enchanted Forest

Cant wait for Silverado to open...
