I went in to Sporting Life of all places today to get my Dumonts mounted, scared for my life after reading everyones bad experiences with shops lately. I talked to a dude who had no idea what was going on and got him to write everything down on the work order so there'd be no argument if things got screwed. 30 minutes later the tech called me to clarify exactly where i wanted to mount'em cause he couldnt read the work order. In addition hooked up wide breaks for free and swapped in shorter hardware for free. Everything was mounted in 40 minutes, for 20 bucks. And it was dope. There is hope out there, even where you least expect it.

yeah, Sportchek was amazing...they bent the breaks, and even double checked my measurements...the big department stores have very high dependability for mounting..

I guess they have to deal with the ignorent, pissed off customer more than the local shop, so have learned to get things right the first time. I worked at a sport chek for 4 years, and had a rockin time, things are sweet when you have a multimillion dollar company backing your ass up on everything to say and do. The tech at my store was a great dude who had been working in a shop for 9 years, and over my time with him i saw very little ever go wrong, even behind the scenes... that being said ive also been to sport cheks with 18 year old techs with internet training and not a clue in the world, so buyer beware.

i probably had the best cusotomer service today ive ever had today:
so i was at ski company (rochester ny) and i was getting this years invaders..the guy that was tlaking to me about them was super chill and reccomended what bindings and everything.. we get to the register and the guy goes.. were really backed up for mounting, we got like a 1000 skis and the guys are working overtime so we'll have them done by the 28th, my dad was like is there anyway if could be before next saturday and the guy goes and asks one of the guys and he comes back out saying they'll do it after they finish up what their doing now and give them to us in 45 minutes..it was sweet, plus we were just talking to one of the empoloyees there the whole time, legit place

word i got my skis and bindings from sporting life cause i get mad deals there but i didnt trust them to mount my triplets. firstly the skis are symetrical and i thought they were going to mount them upside down(even tho it wouldnt make a difference in how they skied i just prefer the grapics the right way) and secondly because they had to bend the breaks on my fks 155 which i thought they would just snap right off and lastly because i knew they would fuck up the mounting point even if center and core center are they same place. so i just took them down the road to sports swap where my freind works. he did them that night and i picked them up the next day. 3 skis, 3 bindings, over night, $25. defintely recomend getting shit from there. and if your not entirely confident ask for taylor and if he fucks up i will personaly beat his ass for you.

Every case is different, but you hear about 90% of the bad cases, whereas just as mnay of the good ones go untold. Also, with twins I think it helps to make it obvious you dont trust the tech with your skis, make damn sure its written down and that they realize that you really do give a shit beyond whether or not they are within a centimeter of recomended.
