Does evreyone else see ALOT more freestyle skiers at their mountain now a days? My mountian had its opening day yesterday, and i was surprised to see all the skiers on twin tips.
ya and then 90% are sick as shit in the park and ski like 80 days but never go outside the park, and then they try to act all legit and like they own the hill.
I think twin-tips are gonna go mainstream like we saw snowboarding 4 years ago, then we're gonna have a lot of twin-tip posers- People who can't do shit, but want to ski cause it's the "cool thing" and think they're tough, but suck major ass. And then were gonna get shitty commercials on tv, and become played, get more wannabe sellout core companies, but there will still be those who are true to the sport
its all the rich racers who buy twin tips cause they want to be cool. like i saw 10 guys on twins who just carved the whole day. didnt hit the park, didnt even see them ski switch.
^ yea iv seen alot more of that then legit twin tippers. I'v seen a bit more but not too noticable where i ski. Also for opening day it was there were alot more than usual but only cause it was the first place to open and everyone was gettin ready to explode if they weren't on a hill.
well my mountain stil has like a 7-1 snowboarder to skier ratio, but the numer of skier's on twins has increased alot, i ski with about 8 kids on twins at the mountain, and now there were alottttt more
yeah there is. while its good for our sport, all these young guns are coming out and getting better then me faster...it sucks! haha, guess i've gotta up my game a bit
im not sure if anyonelse is noticing this but more freeskiers are "die hard" (for a lack of a better word) than snowborders. At sketch rail jams theyve lately been more skiers. And in the early days with like two trails open and a small handful of jibs theres a bunch of skiers out but only a few boarders. Then as the season really starts up and everythings up its bout 50 50 again.
defnitely. im not sure if i like it or not. there's a lot more ppl like me and mtns are starting to cater more to freeskiing. at the same time, i think if freeskiing became as mainstream as say snowboarding it would lose part of its coolness
its because we love skiing more than anyone else. thats why a lot of freeskiers are there on the opening day. the racers dont want to scratch their skis and the old people dont want to ski the same run for ever
