from what i know, there is 2 ways of fixing your poles that requires little money:
1)steal rentals
2)find some sort of wood dowel that is just big enough to fit tightly inside your pole, about 4-6 inches long should be fine. then, hammer the wooden dowel so that half of the dowel is in each part of the pole. then duct tape around that area where a little bit of the wood is visible, this keeps the water out (so it doesnt weaken the wood by rotting) and strengthens the pole overall. you should have a strong, reliable pole now, and it should only be slightly heavier. ill also put this tip in an article, ive done this about 2 or 3 times now, and untill the wood breaks, it should work awesome....
