Current Conditions and Weather (as of Friday, December 15, 2006 )

Friday, December 15, afternoon update:
We're bringing back the goggle tan! Who's with me? Anybody? Fine. You'll all be jealous when I've still got my raccoon eyes and there's 3 feet of snow in the parking lot in January.
It was a bright and sunny day here again at the mountain. The spring vibes were flowing. Little ones were scurrying about outside in tee shirts, skiers were waiting for their buddies on the benches, looking skyward to bask in the rays.
There's still time to work on the gog tan - it's going to be mild and sunny through the weekend. And the icing on the cake? It's going to get cold enough in the p.m. to blow snow. Snow at night, sun during the day... that's a good deal.
The spring-like snow conditions will prevail Saturday and Sunday, with loose granular in the sunny spots and wet packed snow in the shade. My recommendation is to hit Chute on the North Face early in the morning while the gettin's good, then cruise Deer Run/Long John and say hi to the sun, then chase your shadow down Canyon right into Standard, finishing off with a romp through Un Blanco Gulch terrain park. Even if you don't hit any features, it's fun to watch those insane kids with the XXXL pants.
Don't forget it's Demo Day tomorrow. Test out all the latest technology from Burton, Atomic, Rossignol, K2, Volkl, Head, Atomic and more. It's FREE (but you need a credit card as a deposit). Register in the Main Base Lodge from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Early season discounted lift tickets still in effect today. Full day adult tix are $53, young adults are $46 and juniors and seniors are $41. Further discounted afternoon tix go on sale at noon: adult $43, young adult $36, junior/senior $31.
