well my ipod is formatted for macs
and my ibook recently crashed
is there any way to have my ipod formatted for both windows and macs
cause i'm not trying to lose all my music

i put songs from macs and windows on my ipod, u just have to make sure the persons settings are at manual and not automatic update

yea.. its compatible for both.. just dont enable auto update from library. i go between mac and pc between work and home.

it was off on my other ones but i did that such a long time ago and now i can't figure it out on this cpu-bot

in preferences somewhere, its really easy on a pc, but a super pain in the asshole on a mac

Edit -> Preferences -> iPod tab, its in there. You need to have an iPod connected to see them, so make sure you cancel the update when you first plug in your iPod because the iPod options aren't available until one is plugged in.
