i personnaly really hate it..but i think that people can do whatever the fuck they want..as long as they dont look like a compleete idiot....like kye peterson looks like a moron wiht no poles becasue he flails like a monkey and there is this dude on ns name hiram and he is very talented with the no poples shit..so reaqlly it s all up to what u want to do..
Anyone who goes no poles is a complete fag. I mean, it's totally part of skiing lol. But seriously, everyone who goes no poles waves around like a fucking windmill and it looks sooo bad.
I just want to shoot everyone who goes nopoles in the fucking leg.
There's this one kid on here and his sn is "hiram" and he always goes nopoles and it's the faggiest thing i've ever seen. His style is WACK.
go play in the middle of the highway please, it would help us all out
if you've ever watched 4bi9 ski with no poles....its fun as shit, and if your really lame enough to hate on people with no poles then go fuck yourself. I will ride no poles because its fun to do sometimes, if you can't appreciate that then whatever, its your loss
No poles is retarded, we're skiers, not skiboarders or rollerbladers. Skiers use poles. This no poles crap is seriously going to fuck up the image of our sport.
i would say worrying about fucking up your image is gonna do a lot more damage than not holding poles in your hands that you only use in the lifeline anyway.
Like it or not, but the image projected by pro skiers is what attracts new people to the sport, which in turn attracts revenue, more publicity, and benefits ski companies. The fact is, the mainstream think blading is whack compared to skateboarding, and they already liken skiers to bladers (as opposed to snowborders), having more people drop poles is only going to accentuate that.
Do I care about my image (or your image) when I ski? No. I do care about the growth of our sport, and the pragmatist in me says that echoing rollerblading is going to be detrimental to that growth. I'm fucking sick of only having one newshcool ski magazine, a handful of core companies, and no mainstream exposure. I don't want things to get worse. If this no poles trend seriously catches on I believe the current situation will only get worse.
Quite apart from this, the fact remains that if you actually ski outside the park dropping your poles is pretty stupid. But that's another point alltogether.
its mad fun...it teaches you balance so you dont have to rely on poles to save you, if your good you can make it look just as good or better. and you can do redicously ill grabs mad easy.
but i only ski poleless like half of the time, its ill
dont hate on no poles till you try it cause its mad fun. i used to hate on it for whatever reason, but when you check 4bi9, wallish makes it mad steezy, plus its just damn fun, so stop hating untill you try it yourself
Its funn to drop the poles every once in a while, I think It just feels weird, when you get off the lift, I always feel like Im forgeting something or something. I also relized how dependent I am of them in the lift line.
not true..
i keep seing some kid in our local park rippin it with nopoles.. he goes poles some days but hell be diong blindside switch ups on dfd's and shit its looks sick
sometimes i go nopoles just becuase it makes you need to keep you upperbody/arms quiter.
if you can master skiing with outpoles and make it look good, you are set when you have poles
he skis with poles= awesome
he skis without poles= awesome
its a personal choice of style and both can look just as stylish. no poles might make it harder to have more style so it makes it more of a challenge and deserves more respect maybe.
but in the end, its only skiing, and should be done to have fun.
Depends what your doing really. I saw both pep fujas and eric pollard riding without poles the other day. It seemed to help them having their hands out hauling balls switch on huge centermounted fatties. I think poles really help in the park, like a balance aid especially on rails. But, this has been posted before so I am probably just repeating a lot of things that have already been said, or maybe just getting a free post. Who knows?
i'm gonna start shredding with no poles all the time, but i'll still hold something. guns. when people talk shit, they'll get shot. first offence, a shot to a limb. second, a knee shot. third, well...the third won't be too pretty.
poles are an unnecessary distraction. I mean I use them a fair amount. just let people do what they please. Hate is so negative so you people should stop it.
Well if you can put your arms next to your body while performing rails and jumps stuff, poles wont make a difference, it just means you might endup washing out of your landing more often.
