For all of you who care: Skier Cross is going to be in the Olympics

I just got an email today from a salomon subscription service that says skier cross will be in the 2010 olympics.
Personally, I think this is a big deal; it is one step closer to freestyle skiing being in the olympics. I dont know why it isnt already...there is freestyle snowboarding, why not freestyle skiing?
You can say what you want about an individual sport in the olympics, but this is an opportunity to spread our sport.

Just to clarify, skiercross has been approved by the IOC (International Olympic Committee).
It still has one more step before it actually goes into the 2010 Olympics and that is to be accepted by VANOC (Vancouver Olympic Committee).
It is extremely likely that they will accept it, and it will go in, however, it is possible that they could say no.
At this point its about 99% in, and it would be very unlikely that it doesn't get the final approval by VANOC.

Same can be said for freestyle skiing in my opinion. And, the olympics are gay because people who smoke ganja cant enter.

snowboarding is only in the olympics for financial gains and such.
and skiing is gay, so it wouldnt really make money.

Yea, skateboarding is more of everyone can do it sport because its alot cheaper to participate. Alot of people cant afford to ski though. So in terms of how many people will ski,it will always be alot less. But nevertheless skiing has grown a ton since I first started thats for sure.

Should be a real good crowd-gatherer too as Skiercross is way more exciting to watch than time-trial downhill racing.

its without doubt the ugliest form of ski racing.
But it is intense, and shitloads faster than boardercross.
