Please do not flame me. If your going to make fun of me just don't post I need some good information. I am a snowboarder. I have been snowboarding for about 8 or 9 years. Its getting old to me and I just feel that skiing would be more fun. The skiing scene is just a sicker scene and I hate the view snowboarders get from the skiers. So basically I am deciding to switch to skiing this season. I have been skiing since I was 3 and I am pretty good. I have all the basics down and going down any hill is not a problem for me at all. Its basically second nature. I skiied a few times last year and enjoyed it a lot. So my first question is do you think I will learn freestyle skiing pretty easy? I want to be able to do rails and 3's by the end of the season. I think its possible. What kind of setup should I look for. I was looking at 169 Public Enemeys with nice technica boots and scratch bindings. Is this a good intermediate setup I can progress on?

No but seriously. First things first. You have to post your height and weight so you can get the right gear and you need to post where you will be skiing this season.

I'm 5'10 and 180 pounds. I was also looking at the silencers.
I'll be skiing at Mountain Creek, Killington, Mount Snow, Stratton ect (east)

I switched over 3 years ago. Demoed some 1080s and shitty boots... never looked back for a second after that. It really depends on ther person for how fast you will progress. it really feels like a couple days ago when I first made that big decision. Im not trying to hype myself but if I could of looked forward from struggling to make it down the trail without dying to now and seen how much Ive progressed I probably wouldnt believe it. As long as your willing to take some hard falls and try more stuff than you think you could do, youll probably pick it up super fast

you'll be fine on those. You could go a little longer on the skis if you wanted to, up to 180 probably.

something around 175 is a better size

Yeah a 175 will be much better. Public Enemys are fun. I have 159's and Im 5'7" and weigh 130.
