Just wanted to share my recent experience with backcountry.coms alternate website dogfunk.com. about 2 1/2 weeks ago i placed an order for a DC softshell jacket(similar to an oakley apex). it arrived as scheduled but one of the zippers for the pocket was locked up and wouldnt budge for the life of me. so i called em up, got a UPS return slip to send it back for another that they told me would ship out the following day. about a week and a half go by and no jacket(first one came in about 4 days) so i give em a call and they tell me that the jacket is no longer in stock and they dont know when they will get more in. after arguing for a little while because i was told that the jacket was in stock when i called the first time, they put the manager on the phone. this guy was really helpful and explained what might have happened and asked if there were any similar jackets that i was interested in. i told him i liked the oakley apex but didnt want to spend the extra 60 bucks on it and he said hed give me one for the price i paid for the DC jacket(140) and ship it out 2 day air! so im a little mad that they didnt bother to contact me and let me know that my jacket wasnt coming but i am super stoked that theyre gonna hook me up with an apex for that cheap.
that's good customer service. No one is perfect, and every company makes mistakes, especially when it comes to "# instock." Sucks that you went without a jacket for so long, but sounds to me like they compensated you well.
thats amazing. i love it when companies are reasonable like that. decade has great customer service as well. they ran out of stock for some looks i ordered. they automatically upgraded my order to some nice alternative rossis. i was super pumped as well.
thats the same with evogear and my chronics i had my chronics waranteed since like may and just got them today. they said that since it took line so long to ship and i had missed a trip because of the skis not shipping on time they upgraded me to the blends at no charge
Same with me. I ordered some Dynastar Nothing But troubles last year from decade but they told me a few days later that they sold out in my size. They then told me that I could get Crichton's for the same price.
yeah for sure. ha its not like i was in desperate need of the jacket but i have had nothing but good experiences with the company in the past and i was getting worried that they were gonna pull a getboards.com on me. im glad they were so cool about this and they'll definitly continue to keep me as a future customer.
