to everyone on this site that says 'newschool' is primarily influenced by snowboarding.....
your a bunch of complete morons,,,yes it had influences in the beging and still does now but it played no wear near as big a part in it as a lot of you fucks think, every thing the skiing has become would have happend despite the existance of snowboarding, maby not quite as fast but it would have happed none the less its called natraul fucking 'PROGRESSION', sure the names of the tricks and shit mite not be abloutly identical but the same shit done now would be done today, without snowboarder influences, some of you make skiing sound like its just another fucking branch of snowboarding or somthing, FUCK YOU, YOUR WRONG, snowboarding is fucking sick and i love it but progression is what got skiing here not snowboarding. IT WOULD OF HAPPEND EVENTUALY

yea, i think it came primarily from big mountain, clifs and being in the air is fun...then like freestyle in olympics and stuff, and then there were moguls with the jumps an shit, they were doing tricks then, i think boarders just gave us the idea of being more chill about it

remember parks being snowboard only? if it wasn't for boardn we prolly wouldnt have parks now. but right now, i think skiing is passing snowboarding progression wise. we will own them soon.

yeah i agree with skeeordye, look at the pipe, we own snowboarders now, and off jump were about even, and same with big mountain, the only thing is that snowboarders can vary rails more

I don't think we're caught up in pipe. Check out the global-x snowboard pipe gold medal run, flippy spinnything with a grab every hit. The top 3 ski runs had straight airs, and nothing switch.

in terms of tricks, we still havent caught up yet, but we're currently passing them in progression because newschooling is younger. size wise, we've still got a lot of catching up, but i dont want to catch up in size. i like skiing being a smaller sport. just my opinion.

I do agree with you that eventually skiing would be where we are today, sometime (except there is no way to say how long this would have taken.) The thing is snowboarding GREATLY speed up the progression of our sport. So snowboarding deserves our respect, or you would probally still be throwing daffies or would have switched to snowboarding if skiing hadn't progressed.

but then again, skiers are just now starting to do switch stuff in the pipe, i do believe that on tables it is much easier for a skier to spin more with style, but again shaun white is an anomaly

It think that on tables, skiers are better. BC booters, snowboarders have it. In pipe, it varies. Snowboarders' tricks are better (more techy and smoother), but skiers go alot bigger. In big mountain, I think skiers definitly have it. Jeremy Jones is fucking sick, but like Shawn White, he is an anomely.

i dont know about this whole 'hold ur grab' thing, its good for about 3-5 of ur trick depending on amount spun, but after that its like 'cool u can grab', for an example, mikael at the open, his switch 9s and 10s were amazing, and he got what he deserved, but tanners switch 7s were just as if not, not much less steezy than mikaels tricks, and he held the grab for about 270 of his spin, i dont know, styles a fucked up thing to talk about, so im gonna stop
