Fort Minor Sucks (With Reason!)

Ok here's my story:
Me and my friends started dickin around on a program on my MacBook called GarageBand. In simple, this program has a bunch of pre-made melodies. For example, they have little piano parts, string parts, drum parts, etc etc. To make a song, you simply take some of the ones you like, put them over top of each other, and loop each one so that they are as long as you want.
Now here comes the part where Fort Minor sucks. I was on their website, just checkin out their music and I played the song "Believe Me". In this song, there are strings in the background (violin). Now, these strings just happen to be the EXACT same strings that me and my buddies used in our song. Not similar, identicle. Check it out!!
Our Song: http://www.purevolume.com/kabillionaires The song is called "Gangcaster"
Fort Minor: http://fortminor.com Go into the site, then in the player go to "Believe Me"
LISTEN FOR THE VIOLINS!

dude it's probabbly just a coincedence. i bet lots of bands have a violin the background that sounds like that. but ya that would be really sketchy if they did use garage band. oh well

I don't really hold that against them, I still like some of their songs. As long as it sounds good I don't mind where they got it from unless it's from another artist and then the other artist will deal with it.

so, that one band a while ago used the same song twice with different lyrics and they were both hits. it was nikelback or something.

OMFG@ the worlds going to end now that we've made a connection. I don't care how simple or how easy bands found strings, tunes or drumbeats as long as they have the talent to put it all together into a song that the public enjoys.

It was the same deal with Tom Petty's Last Dance With Mary Jane and Red Hot Chili Pepper's Dani California.
OH MY GOD THE VIOLIN LINES ARE THE SAME. Any good musician will tell you they borrowed music once to play, practice, or help write their own shit. You're an idiot if you don't think other bands use music for influence. If this didn't happen, music would never progress. This is how new styles are formed, alterations of old styles. Stop being a nay sayer and think about the evolution of music.

heres a better "coincidence" In the song "get me gone" he raps about how critics accussed LP of ghost writers and that theyre lyrics werent original. Ironicaly in that same song he steals a line extremely similar to living legends. "scream insanity, all your ever gonna be is another big fan of me." vs "every enemy screamin insanity all theyre ever gonna be is just another big fan of me." Its real obvious cause he didnt even change the melody to fit the song its just living legends line and melody in the middle of a song written about original lyrics. Lil ironic if you ask me. And another song i forget which one, the base melody/ tune/ w.e it is is extremely similar to a mozart song.

Yeah but any rap song with a full symphony.. or anything ever similar, is going to have to have sampled it from somewhere.. I highly doubt they'd write their own pieces for say, a string quartet or something..
or maybe they would.. eh..

Whatever, the end justifies the means, in my opinion. He's got some pretty dope shit. If you think they suck, take your Garage Band and make music like he's putting out.

Nirvana did that with Smells like teen spirit and Rape me like that but I think it was on purpose. If I remember correctly they were supposed to play at some MTV awards or something and they were supposed to play their hit Smells like teen spirit. So just to piss off MTV they rewrote the lyrics to Rape me as a big joke. Im not sure if that was true but same riffs in both songs.
