My big toes are black and blue

Afte rmy first day of jumping, my big toenails hurt.

Does this mean that my boots are too small?
or could it be just from landing backseat even if my boots fit right?

It could be your boots are too small or more likely, that your boots are too big. I had some wicked toe-bang about 6 years ago and went in to get professionally fitted and discovered I was in boots 2 sizes too big. Went from a 28.5 to a 26.5, haven't had a problem since. Its nice to have the same toenails at the end of May as you started the season with.

theyre not new, i rode them last year and never had this problem. soo theyre probably too small. I wear a 8.5-9 a street shoe, and my boots are a salomon 1080 25.0. I think they might be too short, but too wide/ spacious (my foot is really narrow)

99.99% of all foot pain is becuase your boots are to big, how many times did you ski last year, becuase your boots will pack out and they now have a bigger volume then they did when you bought them.

Well any sliding around could cause the problem. That boot size doesn't seem too far off from your shoe size but all boots fit differently. Take your boots into a bootfitter and get it worked out. Its better that the boot is too small rather than too big cause you can get em' punched out to try and improve the fit.

alright before buying new boots cut your toe nail short , it happened to me i lost my big toenail coz the nail was to long and stabbed the end of the boot repeatedly. dont go buy boots right away

if you have narrow feet dont get salomon, you should get yourself something like lange instead

ya cut your toenails unless they're already really short. I wouldn't recomend salomons for somebody with narrow feet salomon makes wide boots. When you're standing straight up in your boots your toes should just barely be touching the end of the boot and in you lean forward and put pressure on your shins your toes should come off the liners a bit

Yeah, if you are standing straight up or leaning slightly forward in the boot your big toe should not be pressed against the boot. If it is you need to get the big toe in the boot grinded out a bit.

My right big toe was constantly smashed against my boot last year, even when leaning forward. It hurt like crazy all day while in boots. So I got the toe grinded out and life is much better.

I absoletely hate toe bang I had it so bad last year i ended up losing both big toe nails and they didn't grow back until like the end of summer. I'm really at a loss for what the problem is i have soft boots so this shouldn't be happening they fit perfectly, but if anything they're too small. I think that there's too much room in the toe box so trying getting like an insole to push ur toes against the top of the boot more so that there isn't as much room to move

another tip is to cut ur big toe nail as much possible. I have boots that fit fine and if i forget to cut em, im fucked

surprised no one has mentioned footbeds. do you have a footbed!? if not, go get one problem solved or at least better. sounds like the right size, put your foot in the shell, you should have two fingers/centimeters space. if more perhaps too big, if less perhaps a tad tight get toe ground or stretched. and seriously get a footbed! youll be blown away by fit and performance. if indeed you are narrow, 1080 a little big volume wise. i'm a skinny dude and worship my kryptons, if you like salomon though check out the new gun or falcon 10, they are low-volume as well. yeah get a footbed.

that is true.. i was on salomon's at first then i got fitted and got switched to langes and all my pains went away. of course there are alota boots out there which are narrow

yeah, i had em last year, and my feet have grown, so theyre definitely not to big, lengthwises, but they are high volume, so have too much rrom in the toebox/ too wide. Is theyre anything that cen be done to make them fit more snug, or do i need new boots?

yeah sort of, a bontex (cardboardish) shim on top of the boot board would make things a bit more snug.. but not a hell of a lot.

Make sure your straps are really tight. They keep your foot back in the boot. And for the most part your shins should be forward. Being backseat especially if your straps aren't really tight, your toes will hurt!
