lets say your 115 pounds and youre on a 157 chronic wide. will it be softer then a 167 chronic wide ? like does line make the skia but softer as the size changes to help lighter skiiers ?
I would say for most skis NO. Notable exceptions are most of the 4FRNTs, which are all scaled by length (longer ones are also wider to maintain the turn radius and overall feel of the ski). But for most skis, it is the same core, just the length is different.
stiffness depends on the makeup of the ski.
all skis are different.
some skis are pretty large and noodly.
some skis are short and mad stiff... and all combos in between.
You guys aren't even listening to the question! He's asking if different lengths of the SAME model are different. For example, if you flexed 167, 172, and 178 Line Chronics, would they all be the same? or would they get stiffer as they got bigger. The answer is that they will all be the same because they all use the same core in different lengths. The exception might be 4FRNT because their different lengths of the same ski are scaled so that they all ride the same.
the flex pattern does not change but the flex does. so a 160 ski may feel softer but its flex it proportionate to the length so it is flexing in the same way the 170 flexes. im pretty sure they dont just make the same core and then just cut like shorter segments from it.
yeah, he said what I was trying to say. The flex PATTERN is the same for a model ski in any size. If you want a ski that feels significantly stiffer or softer you are going to have to look at different core materials.
yes it chages. I han the mo2 165...could go on tip like the ancient frontpage without poles and now with the 175, which are a bit longer than myself, almost cant butter. and its only 10 cm. the head I tried were fucking stiff, and long. I cant imagine a kid with like 155 as stiff. he wouldnt be able to turn.
