Life changing

well here i am thinking about my life..i am in 11th grade and i have been smoking pot religiously every night since 9th grade..my grades have never been that bad and ive never gotten caught so my life was good..well this year i have been slacking in school and just getting lazy.and here i am today finally i got caught and my best friend who happens so be a dealer got caught with  a q pound..my mom and his mom are best friends and i just listened to them cry on the phone to eachother.ive been thinking about quiting all year because of seeing friends getting in trouble and even arrested and even myself almost getting arrested a few times..but now after today it finally hit me.i am offically quiting.its not worth it and im sure people will say that its not bad for you and it dosent fuck up your life...but it does..im not saying dont smoke pot but just think about whats really important next time

Umm Pot doesn't fuck up your life. You getting caught does. Idn what the specifics are, but you got caught, therefore you did something wrong, so it's more or less your fault, not the innocent plants. Why are you hanging around with people with QP's? Thats kind of sketchy, especially if its a young kid with a qp. Don't be stupid, don't hang out with dealers or sketchy kids, always carry weed in small amounts and dont get caught. Its all pretty simple.

congrats man, I did the same thing, smoked everyday like twice a day, then got caught. life is so much more chill without weed, worrying about cops, rents, money. I've been clean for a little over a year, yeah...

same thing for mee..
i have been caught drinking by my parents a ton of times..and arrested 2 times for a underage drinking thing with friends.
i only drink like not often now. but i have a good time and ski.

thats good man. one of my really good friends was in similar situation. ALWAYS smoking, trying other drugs, got caught and he knew he had to quit but he just couldn't. In that case, I wish you luck with quitting.

well first of all this kid has been my best friend since first grade so yea that explains that..and i started to expierment with other harder drugs because of pot.so yea it most cerenly can fuck up your life

good for you, im glad you made that kind of decision.. (read that in a happy kind of voice cuz i dont mean anythin negative) i once had a really good friend who got carrrried away on weed and did it like 24/7 and became homeless for a while and everything his lifes fucked up
got expelled from every single school in ontario
his life went to hell

I dont even have a fucking clue where he is now a days.
he's just gone. maybe dead... who knows. He was a great guy thuogh. minus all the drug stuff.

You let your life get fucked up, by trying the harder drugs. Saying weed is a gateway drug is just a fucking excuse for people being dumbasses. I got caught, it certainly didn't ruin my life, and i stopped for like 9 months now I smoke again, and it's chill. The only way weed can fuck up your life is if you let it, self control is a virtue.

depending on your circumtstances, weed can move from a fun time now and again to a crutch you depend on, because thats much easier than actually dealing with your shit. therefore sick thatthis kid kicked the habit, and hopefully in a few months hell be back to level and can blaze every few weeks without it being a problem.

i'd like to add another little something something.

i went home in august to visit friends and family back in ontarible, but when i got there none of my friends had a joint waiting for me... i mean none of them had a bag. so i go to my dealer and turns out - he's not even dealing anymore.

so i go to my OTHER dealer, and he doesn't have any weed. granted - i bought other drugs from him, but i still didn't have any weed. i had to go 2 hours south to kitchener (from wasaga beach) to find pot.

it was the weirdest experience of my life.

i dont understand why people dont think pot is a gateway drug. it seems like those who defend pot love that excuse. I used to smoke, even when i did smoke i thought that it was a gateway drug. Sure there are people out there (probably the ones who dont think its a gateway drug) that can resist the urge to try other drugs, but still smoke mad weed. Its not easy for some people to resist the urge of trying to get fucked up in another way. What leads you to wanting that? well in case you cant figure it out, its that high from weed. after a while it may get boring and you want to try a different drug (again, im not saying that this is true about the people who can resist the urge- remember, many people can not, which is why it is a gateway drug).

just because you may be able to resist the urge doesnt mean that everybody can, which makes it a gateway drug. people dont suddenly wanna try, dxm for example, without doing any drug. after you smoke weed (or drink and wanna find another way to get fucked up- i think alcohol and most drugs people start with can be considered gateway drugs for those who cant resist the urge to try new highs) you will probably wanna try something new.

this is jsut my opinion, so take it as you will, but this is coming from a kid with a similar experiance to the threadstarter. i got caught by my parents after i got a minor in possesion of alcohol. they then searched my room and found a pipe, some robo bottles, and thats basically it.

i've seen pot fuck up so many people's lives.... i come from a small town where it's a huge problem.  from what i've seen, pot usually leads to other drugs which leads to people having fucked up lives.  you can't argue with that. why not? because it's personal experience.

i forgot to add, to the thread starter:

quitting is definatly a good decision. you'll get your cash flow back, you'll get yourself out of that fog that you get when you blaze every day, you'll become more sociable (at least i did when i quit), more active, and basically you will do better in all aspects of your life.

no i never did, but ive seen close friends go thru rehab and tear their families apart because of hard drugs.

th eonly reason pot is a gateway drug is because it is such a minor drug. it is just where everyone starts.but really i think it is pretty easy to controll yourself. i have been smoking everyday for quite a while and only eaten mushrooms, which i knew i would at least try sometime, even before i smoked pot, and i have never even considered trying others. ive seen them fuck up people's lives, but pot really doesnt at all. i smoke becasue i really see no reason not to. it gives me another perception on life, my grades havnt dropped becasue of it, i still get my shit done, i just need a little excitement in my day, so i get stoned.

well sure a stoner is always looking to get stoned, and even when theres no weed around theryre still gunna wanna get fucked up.  but seriosuly, a weed high is a good enough high for most people, and how often is it really that hard to find bud?  not often.  and when you are dry, is it really that big of a deal to get high off aderal or dxm or something?  no cuz it would only be every once in a while.  the point is that people may try harder drugs, but not too many people get hooked on them, or even do them very often at all.
