Replying to Is my DIN too low? Pre-releasing while on boxes...
So I was at Bear and was hitting some boxes and on TWO occasions the ski opposite of the leading ski released at the toe. The only thing I could gather from what happened is that my momentum carried me forward while the friction of the box prevented my ski from following me and ended up releasing. I'm 6'2" 240lbs on Rossi Axial 2 140. I consider myself a pretty aggressive rider, riding Chronic Wide 187s with a boot of 29.5 and the shop set both of my DINs at 8.... which I thought was pretty low. Since I don't want to void the warranty of the shop by messing with the DIN, should I just take them back to be recalibrated, or will they just laugh at me...
I know there was a post about cranking up your DIN like 2 or 3 more than what's normal for park riding... but that sounds kind of sketchy... all you ski techs, what should I do, I love my knees, but at the same time, i don't think my hip can take the abuse from possible pre-releasing while on boxes and rails.
