the health minister in power atm is a catholic guy and he wants to make them completly illegal. i disagree with this no end, and so do the majority of australians especially women. he is a guy, will never have to go through an abortion personally, and he shouldnt be imposing his own personal views on the rest of the country.
the decision should be completly up to a woman, and if she wants to have it done, then she shouldnt have to have reasons such as being raped or medical problems. if she doesnt feel ready to have a child, raise it etc then she shouldnt have to.
my bf and i have sex (hes 18 im 17) im on the pill he uses a condom. we are both still in school studying. accidents can happen though, and i would have an abortion, no questions asked if i got pregnant at the age i am now. i dont think that we should be expected to keep a child if something of the such did happen. we could not possibly support a child and give it a decent quality of life.
this is what would happen if abortions were made illegal. more children would be brought into a family that couldnt support them, and thus abandoned, or similar.
if a woman is determined to get an abortion, we will go back to the days of backyard operators and of knitting needles, coathangers and bits of wire.
this can then lead to the woman never being able to have children in her future.
there are emotions involved aswel, not just the physical aspect to it. a woman has to way all of this up to come to her decision and then live with it for the rest of her life. i dont think it should be made harder by a committee of people that (probably) wont have to deal with this situation in their lives.

You pretty much proved all of my points in your reply. First off girls love to say, the decision of abortion should be based upon the girl, however those gold digging bitches are the ones that would be at my doorstep waiting for their child support money.
And the fact that i said murdering babies is 100% true, i dont care who is offended by it. A fetus has a fucking heartbeat. Period. People will swurve out of the way of a squirrel while driving to save its life, but its ok to shove a vaccum up a girls vagina to complete an abortion.
I'm happy you and your bf have sex and use protection, so theres your responsibility, but cant take the responsibility of the possible outcomes. I'm not going to lie, i have sex just as much as the next High school senior does, but i know the risk i am takin in doing so. With so many ways of protection(morning after pill, condoms, birth control, whatever the hell girls use etc.) you literly have to be dumb to get pregnet if you take caution. So just that your lazy it should be all right to commit murder?
I understand the whole rape aspect too, and if you think its possible that you got pregnet then you should be able to go to the doctor and get immediate help, if you react quick and not be lazy you have the morning after pill. And thats not murder.
So go ahead, find the little things wrong with this to flame, doesnt bother me, just think twice about the points i thought of when i was high. and people think Marijuana is bad for you, they must of never tripped like this
