This is to remember Pearl Habor for the man and women you die in it. It was in 1942 went the Japanese came to Hawaii to bomb the place. There were blood, guts, and body parts every where. It was a sad day for Americans and all the people that are not.
P.S. Please let have a moments of silence.

My Japanese friend came up to me and was like remember what happed in '41. So on August 7th (I think that's the date) I'll remind him about the bomb. I had it coming we give him lots of shit for being Jpaanese but it's all in good fun.

It was a battle just like any battle, would you hold a 1 minute silence for stalingrad, the bloodiest battle in history? What about Dieppe? Oh yeah, americans never fought there.
Pearl Harbor was the result of sheer stupidity. A fleet that is 1 week away from pearl harbor disappears? Opening of the sub nets every sunday(this part still baffles me, and yes at least one japanese sub got in)? No daily fighter patrols? Incompetence with radar? Had the US stationed aircraft carriers, they would have no pacific defense, thank god for routine repairs on the californian coast.
They knew that war was coming, it was just a matter of time before americans got involved; same story as the german uboat that sunk an american civilian ship that got the US in ww2.
This isn't about respect, its about patriotism, and he is trying to show it to everyone.
Yes people died, it was a tragedy, but it was one of only many in any war, and it would be impossible to hold 1 minute silences every time this happenned.

the only reason that this is so important (and im not saying that other instinces aren't as important) is because this is what triggered american involvement in WW2. Even though people knew abotu it, and it was an error, it should still be recognized as a tragedy. you hold a moment of silence for 9/11 right, its the EXACT SAME IDEA. there is no difference in the idea and the repercussions.
