Ski movie length.

is it just me or are ski movies getting alot shorter?
being in australia i just got my copy of anomoly and hit list (i know hit list is older but whatever) and to watch the actual movie is seemed alot shorter then say ski movie 2 and 3 or high life, of course we have all these special features and rider edited segments but to be honest i would much rather a longer movie without all the extra stuff.
and why dont riders edit thier segments for the movie anyway i must say i do prefer the rider edits in hit list more than the real movie, except jon mcmurrys segment, does the dude ski anymore or does his just ass around and jump off roofs and bridges?

riders dont have total control over their segments in a movie because the majority of the time, they're not paying for it. The people who've invested the money in the productin are ultmately going to make the decisions. As a videographer/editor myself, there's no way in hell I'd give the athelete total reign over their segments. If possible, I think they should be consulted and their opinions given, but that's it. I mean the whole "rider-produced, and edited" concept is a cool idea, and has a certain allure to it, but when it all boils down, there's a reason skiers get paid to ski, and editors get paid to edit.
