Skiing at Copper, slap in the face, integrated with a kick in the balls/ and a shit on the dick. I would much rather ride Breck's park than ride Copper's Open course. There will probably be more pros riding at Breck too.

to me at least, its kind of a waste of money(unless you actally have a chance at top ten), think of how much money that is. I lived in mammoth and skied every day for 2 months off 1000 bucks

I think he's talking about total cost with plane tickets/car gas, lodging, food, etc. because its only $300 to register even for both events.

what hes saying is that if you are an unknown person that isnt getting exposure for sponsors, its really not worth it unless you win or get finals.
for other sponsored/am/semipro riders, it might be worth it just to get your name out there more and for your sponsors.

The worst part about the USO is the fact that great riders across the country didn't get in because of mediocre kids with money hacking away at the registration and filling spaces in 2 minutes. My friend J Scriz would definetly have made at least semis but no, there are a bunch of hacks in the event. Their best skill is their online speed for registration.

Yeah, but the atmosphere of comps is so amazingly addicting.
But then again, you could just as easily compete in a smaller, local, less expensive comp and have just as great a time.
But going to US Open would be an amazing thing to do.. think of how much fun it would be.

Exactly. I know three guys from here doing it. Only one of them has any right to be in the event. And to whoever said switch 7 both ways as a 'pre req.' i agree. And thanks to whoever backed up J Scriz A.K.A. Jonny Scott. People like him who deserve to be in it are not, and this is why the US Open makes me sick.
Nonetheless, Ill be there checking it out and supporting my friends.

I think I only ate ramen once, I had PB and J for lunch almost everyday and pasta a fair amount, but mainly I split food with others to keep meal costs low. Its obviously a lot easier to do with good friends who will help you out.
Even without knowing anyone, you could still live in employee houseing(in late season) or camp for free, find a boring night job and keep costs super low. I didnt work when I was out there. A spring pass is 350 or so if I rememeber good from april to close and plane tickets bought a month or 2 in advance are 350 max from the east(you have to search hard).
