the ski you're talking about to my knowledge was there super stiff pipe ski that year and if you could get them cheap they'd probly be pretty sik, and im not a huge fan of s810's i used them for last year and they are bomb proof but now im on look rossis and they are just more reliable and dont come off on stupid stuff like my s810s did

i got the s810's on some 03-04 models of the 1080's (the yellow ones) and they are both pretty good, i like them.

810s will be ok if you dont weigh too much. if your more than 140 or so, id get a higher spec binding.

the 420's technically dont exist.
Bascially they are a make up ski for chain sporting goods store.
ie:dicks, sports authority ect.
Bascailly the buyer for dicks aproaches salomon and says "hey i need a bazillion twin tips and i need to sell them for x amount of dollars and make x amount of margin.... what can you do for me?"
It is bascially the make up from 2 years ago... last year they had ones called the 1080 filter, same color scheme as the foil/thurster/gun except they had like orange in them or something i dont remember
Id say the ski they would be closest to is the 729 from years past.
Similuar footprint to the 1080 but a little softer

But then again what would i know?
