Volkl Karma ski size

I am going to be purchasing this year's Volkl Karma ski and would like some advice on size: should I go with 169 or 177. I am an East Coast skier, 5'11", 200 lbs. I ski 20% park, 20% moguls, 10% groomers and 50% trees. I also try to launch off of anything I can find and I won't be using these on rails.

I have talked to a few local shops and one shop will convince me that I need the 169 and then the next will say 177. Everyone does say that you will notice a difference from these 2 sizes.

Here are my thoughts, a 169 will be better in the park and trees b/c they are shorter, but the 177 will be better to go faster and in pow, especially when I go to Jasckson Hole for a week in February. I am leaning towards the 177, but don't want to sacrafice being able to move fast between the trees.

Any help would be much appreciated!

haha your kidding right? shops told you to get a 169? they are crazy. you shold deff get them in a 185

50% trees...you take an optimistic view of the snow forecast...anyway, you'll want to kill yourself if you get the 169. I'm 6'1 200 and I ski the 185s. They might not be as quick in the trees as the 177's, but they will be more stable at speeds, better in the powder, and better for landing in the park. You'll be happy with either 177 or 185. But definitely don't get the 169, unless you are a beginner. The Karma skis like a shorter ski anyway I am told.

Thanks! That's what I was thinking, but when you are going to drop 6 bills, you'd like to make sure that you are getting the right one.

The smallest you would want to go with is the 177cm, but like others have said, the 185cm is the length to go with. They are also the ones that are almost sold out too. There are some from last year, but they are not overly cheap since they are in high demand.

Yes the Karma does ski shorter (lots of volkls do). At 200 lbs you'd have to be insane to get the 169, and mildly retarded getting the 177. Get the 185 if you can.

185's def i was gunna get 171 and im very happy i got my ar6's in 181 best choice ever, more stable and faster, go bigger!
