Replying to Stupid Car Question

I was coming down from PC today and as usual I was coastin in neutral to save gas

i drop it back into to drive and it clicks/clanks and the ball between the two back tires is smoking. Now it drives "crunchy" and is loud...


Obviously people on here must do this when they come down the canyon,

Is there anyone with experience with my problem?

(PS its a old Range Rover)
