so i was thinking. so we all started as one species. these were like the things that make up rocks only somehow they reproduce. eventually we split into two things: things that fuck and things that dont. these were the first plants and animals. but none the less half of us could fuck. then the half of us that could fuck divide into different species such as monkeys and birds. the trick is that as the DNA is getting more specific, each species becomes more different. eventually, the DNA becomes so specific that the monkeys become apes, chimps, and humans. each mutation takes years and years, but it takes less time for monkeys to becomme apes than animals to become monkeys. humans then fucked other humans in the same area of the world and became different types of humans. some of these humans were put in chains by other humans and forced to grow tobacco and cotton. this leads us to where we are today. eventually, mass imigration causes the humans to cross-fuck and reverses the trend. years later, a government will prevent imigration to the only area in the world worth imigrating to. so the humans are now stuck in the areas they were in, and the trend can continue again. now here is the trick, if the trend continues, eventually humans will divide into different types of humans and so on and so on. so eventually our DNA will become so specific that every time a we reproduce we will produce a whole new species that is incompatiable with other species and all of life will die out. thoughts?
you know what i actually thought? everything seems to happen for a reason (coincidently or not). maybe all this shit humans are doing actually happens for a reason? like pollution and all. im currently doing a research project on global warming and i read off grolier online encyclopedia that the planet would be 33 degrees celcius colder without present greenhouse gasses and the oceans would be frozen (grolier is a legit site and if you wanna bash that statement, bash grolier, not me)
anyways i think that its all happening for a reason. every decision someone makes leads to something that was meant to happen. its just a weird insight i have. go ahead all you "intelligent" people and bash me for having my opinion
...thus, hijacking john's thread. but i disagree with you anyways. i think that the world will be inhabitable before that ever could happen, if it would... or we would just become a super species.
I cant tell if it gets racist in the middle or not....
But anyways, evolution will only be noticible in the human population over a few hundred thousand years. Physical traits that are inherited from parental genomes will have more of an effect in a segregated population. For instance, if you put 10000 people on a rocket ship and sent them away from earth to go colonize a star far far away (assuming the journey will take many hundreds of generations) then chances are, through natural Mendelian genetics, the end population will for the most part look alike. Dominant genes would take over assuming completely random breeding and given enough time.
So yes, if we stay isolated, people will start looking more and more the same. However, if the entire population of the globe starts breeding (randomly and with even dispersal) then in a few hundred generations, all humans will for the most part look alike (a neutralization of genetic features). Kinda cool to think about. But this would never happen of course, since humans do not just go around mating randomly.
i dont know with today modern medication and tommorows better medication survial of the fittest will be obsolete and evelotution in humans will proboley end
we're losing our pinky fingers as we speak. in thousands of years, humans won't have pinkies.
but to the thread, are you saying there are different species of humans? did you seriously say that a black man is a different type of human than a white man? they have the same genes, same DNA, they are both homo sapiens, just different skin color. that's like saying two people with different color hair are different species. and are you saying that the US is the only country worth immigrating to? hell, i'd like to immigrate to europe someday. and just because the US is 'unimmigratable', that doesn't mean people just stop immigrating, they can move from india to canada if they want to still, right? everytime we reproduce we'll produce a whole new species? that's doesn't make any sense. i'm stopping myself here, sorry for the rant but i just don't agree with that at all.
Races aren't biological. They're cultural. What you're saying implies that different races are different species. Asians, blacks, whites, etc. are all the same species. Its like the difference between a black cat and a striped cat. They look different but they're still the same species.
Also survival of the fittest will never stop. Its just that fit won't be as much physically fit as mentally fit. Today it is normally better to be smart than strong.
For centuries humans have had a fascination with the idea that some day we will all die out. We as humans sorta know how we have begun and most of us, at some point or another, rationalize ideas that may lead to the end of our days. I honestly don't think humans have the capabilities to wipe out every last one of us. We may be reduced to a futile state in which technology becomes primative once again. Think about it though, we have a population that is nearing the 7 billion mark. Do you understand how hard it would be to wipe out every last one of us?
We will always have a unique fascination when it comes to the end of the world but as history shows, we are often wrong.
no i mean that different races have slightly different DNA, giving them different features. it is the reason that asians are smarter, because their DNA makes those areas of their brain develope differently. it is essentially the beginning of a more distict evolution
actually, it's not that hard. it's like every other population of species. we are nearing the carrying capacity of earth (w/in the next 50 years) and once reach that point (and most likely overshoot it for a while), the earth's population will plummet, then fluctuate back and forth until a sustainable population is reached.
for those mentioning survival of the fittest, shouldnt it just speed up my result? maybe the title of this thread was misleading, i just meant it was a new look on evolution
You're making my point though, it would be hard to kill of every single person on the Earth but the chances of a lesser race surviving would be much greater.
i think that everytime people fuck they create a different variation of a human because no two persons DNA is exactly the same (other than identical twins, but lets forget about that for now), i dont think it is going to be possible to eventually create a different species EVERY time someone fucks because new species come from genetic mutations and variations (which take thousands of years to become noticable). I think its a cool idea but the from wat i understand the theory is off because evolution is by no meens speeding up at a rapid rate and therefor humans wouldnt ever be able to evolve everytime they fuck.
anyway, on this topic, humans are very unlikely to diversify and evolve into separate human species because the speciation of most terrestrial animals occurs through allopatric speciation. this means that the species generally diversify because they are separated by some physical boundary, and humans have pretty much eliminated all of the physical boundaries that separate different communities/cultures/etc. we can fly, drive, train, or sail. not to mention ski. there are so many things that link different cultures; television, sports, culture, literature, art. shit, just look at how the world cup unites the world. so i find it very implausible that humans will speciate into completely different, sexually isolated species. perhaps if there were a very remote community of people in the mountains or something who never, ever, ever, ever were found by other humans and didn't mate with them for thousands of years, then yes, perhaps, there could be speciation.
isnt the people that have the education to have the better jobs which pay more money to buy the medicine....survival of the fittest...the people with the most money will become the fittest? just a thought
Thats full of shit, it is also a lamarkian agument, losing somehting because of disuse. pinkee fingers have no survival disadvantage, so we are not loosing them. if everyone with pinkee fingers died of pinkee finger disease and those with the genetic mutation to leave them without pinkee fingers would survive, then, and only then would the human race loose its pinkee finger
