Are bindings with plates a good idea because i have heard bad things and good things and i am getting a new pair of skis and don't know what to get bindings wise... any advice will be helpfull
Thanks a lot very helpfull. But if i were to get a pair of bindings with plates on them would it affect my park skiing negatively or would i not really notice it
you would notice it, you would have a less stable platform, and you would turn a ton, not good for park or any skking that is cool, if you want to race gates get plates, otherwise don't.
i asked a guy at my ski shop about plates and he said that theyre not necessary eseppiaclly if your riding park but can be useful when riding backcountry in deep powder he said to sit u higher off the top of the skis
Yeah, agreeing with everyone else, dont get them if you plan on skiing part, apart from you not doing it right you'll probobly get made fun of. and for powder? I dont see how that would make any difference unless you are on. . . nothing. . . it wouldnt make a difference.
I fucking HATE plates. I don't want to have to be forced to buy a certain binding that could most likely make the ski worse. I went with my girlfriend to buy her a pair of k2 Tru Luvs because I always had such good experiences with k2. Then I found out they have plates and only take Marker so I said fuck that. Good skis but terrible bindings is such a waste.
when i was getting bindings fitted onto the public enemies cupel years bak there was like zero bindings left in the shop apart from marker so the manager was like ac weel just fit some markers on with the plates ...worst idea ever they were just heavy and shit .And now its mega shit cos threes a uk binding shortage and marker are the only binding supplier that haven't screwed up in someway...well them and look but look have sold out raver fast :(
so my conclusion is marker and plates are not nice but thats just my view
I have rails on my carving skis (Fischer RX8's). As far as I can tell they work very well. As far as park and freeride I think it would be essentially pointless.
what what what shurly theyd no better that that .. or are you just tring to start a massive discussion on something that will never happen lol you sly dog you ;-)
