SAC Flipper Thread Deleted?

Correct me if I'm wrong...but was the SAC Flippers thread just deleted?

I was posting a response to that thread, and went back and retrieved it cause I think it's worth sharing. To those who defended "why not?" to SAC flipping, I posted:

"Because this is a COMMUNITY, not a job/corporation.

People are on these forums to help each other out, and the COMMUNITY has decided it's unnacceptable to profiteer each other.

And if you're GOING to resell for profit...do us all a favor. buy 5 and sell em at $5 over price, instead of 1 at $25. That way you're at least helping the community by passing on the savings to several members of the community (although I'm not sure SAC would let you do it).

The point is...buying at 11:30 pm and selling at 12:01 for substantial profit, claiming your brother couldn't come up with the money is pretty low.

We're all your brothers and sisters. Show a little love and pass on the savings."

He was still offering a deal far below the average, which is around 120, and he was offering the deal for 100, he just wanted some money. I personally dont see anyone who is losing anything, and only see gain.

^ You should be able to buy and sell for whatever price you choose. If somebody missed a SAC item, why should you have to give it to them for the price paid? Thats lame and thats not how business works.

The "community" has nothing to do with it. Its a business transaction, where items are bought and sold. If you don't want to buy the item at said price don't buy it. NS is filled with cheap bastards that do nothing but lowball at every opportunity.

Lastly for NS to enforce and specific "SAC" rule and so got damn corny, if it exist.

look dude just specify that next time. your thread said taking offers over 100, which doesnt come off as trying to break even. the other thing is that its specifically stated in the buy/sell rules that the mods do not want to see SAC flipping for profit and if you do so your thread will be deleted and you risk being banned. have some respect if not for other members then at least for the mods and the forum rules. im done arguing SAC junk ill let the mods sort it out.

I'm somewhat indifferent to the whole SAC flipping ordeal, but don't for a second think that people don't profit on stuff they sell on here.  Lots of people get promo skis for really cheap or even free... does that mean they should give them away to people on here, because we're a so called "community" (which is a fucked up one at best, where most people hate constantly). 

Don't be naive and think that people don't profit off sales on here... if they didn't, its likely that they wouldn't sell anything at all. 

And to the person who said "thats not how business works".... you're definitely wrong, it is in fact exactly how business works, you buy at a price, and if you can sell it for more you do so.

That said, trying to sell something where the majority of NS knows where it came from, and how much you payed for it, much less lying about where you actually got it is pretty lame.

Nobody is trying to take a loss. "Ethics" man you have a better heart than most. Thats definately not a business term in the least. Make money hand over fist is more like it. Like what the above poster said the problem is everybody and their fat momma knows were this stuff is comming from.

for what it is worth here is my oppinion. when i am shopping for an item i genraly look on here because things tend to go for cheaper on here. i think it is funny that you guys are making such a big deal about it. people try to low ball the shit out of everyone on here and i think it is rediculous. yeah, sure, some of the prices are wack for stuff and talking down is in store. but when someone is selling you something for below cost. help them out. we are a family. i firmly believe that and if there is something i am interested in, i don't hesitate to ask. i aprecate every kid who buys stuff from me. i realy do. and i think that i do a good job fufiling my end of the deal. but it pisses me off to no end when kids message me offering me90 bucks for my t-hall's with bindings. if this kid wants to try and flip his skis here, more power to him. but people watch steep and cheap like a hawk so someone is going to call you out then low ball you on it. then you just look like a jack ass. if someone wants to make a fool of themselves like that. im all for it.

Can't actually alert fellow members to SAC deals because that is some how bad.

You also can't sell said SAC deals for any profit because that is also bad.

Make up your damn minds!

Yes it would be nice if people sold things for little or no gain, but be realistic, would you?

Here's a little tip... If you are selling something and want a lot of money for it, go to Ebay. Things on Ebay sell for what they are worth. That is what SOMEONE ELSE is willing to pay. No low ball offers and no 'f*ck you's every other line.

What I dont understand is why other people CARE so much about SAC flipping when they have no interest in buying the product from the person selling it. If you have no interest, why do you give a fuck if some kid 3 states away buys something for an extra $20.

I didnt read the whole thread but basically i think you can charge as much shit as you want, but then everyone can give you a lot of shit too so it would be pretty hard to sell. Then you can be nice, and let it go for a price that is close to what you paid for. Or go ebay.

ppl can put whatever price they wat on an item, regardless of what they paid for it. no HAS to buy it. and no one should be critized for it. i always aim to make a profit, or at least get my fair share. if the moderaters are gonna be communist about this fine, be that way. but its an upset to free enterprise evey where. and not to mention social and economical darwinism.

This is what capitalism is all about, if you don't like it move out of this continent. As someone said earlier, everyone is better off, take an economics course to learn more.

And sorry to burst your bubble, but this site is far from what I'd call a "community". A bunch of yappy dumb kids that can't spell two words properly or can't have conversations with the maturity of a 10 year old brat don't represent a community for me. That's not for everyone, but most people on here have never met each other or developped anything else than e-friendships.

Exactly.  You guys know it's all spelled out for you that flipping SAC stuff isn't ok here, so why don't you sell it somewhere else if you're trying to make money?  Is it really that hard?  Furthermore, accusing moderators of being communist is hardly helping your cause, it just makes you look like a total dumbass--or moreso.  I don't even sell anything on this site anymore because I don't want to give these people an opportunity to get a deal if they're trying to rip everybody else off.

The whole system is hypocritical. OK, I agree that we're a family/community and for the most part, should aim lend a brother a hand when we can. But when I get criticized for still offerng someone a good deal, even though I bought something at a lower price, then it makes me mad. Morally,  I didn't do anything wrong. But whatever, you guys are right that it's spelled out in clear english in the buy/sell rules not to flip SAC stuff. OK so we should sell at no profit, and always hook people up with the same deals that we got, that way we're all equal. that makes sense but the why the hell do people bitch when others try to share the deal when it's currently up for sale on SAC? We want to afford everyone the same opportunities when it comes to us personally selling something, but why can't we just eliminate the middleman and tell them about the sale when it's up for grabs? And the same with ebay auctions. Why can't we post good deals for other people? We can only sell our own products at no profit, but aren't allowed to show them where they can get good deals on their own. BULLSHIT

yea i didnt check to see if this is mentioned, but there is flipping actually on sack, if u check under items sometimes theres a wtb and fs

well, i agree and disagree. there shouldnt be this equality thing. there needs to be balance. some good deals and then some not so good ones. we can hook ppl up, but we cant screw ourselves over either,right? idc where u got it. if ppl are gonna get banned for still offering a good deal, then YAY!!! otherwise dont fucking buy it!!!!!!!!!!

well it hasn't been enforced. there needs to be no grey on this issue. Either everything that even mentions SAC gets deleted if it's a penny more than what it cost the seller,  or NS just accepts capitalism and allows sellers to do as they please. I want more mods to respond.

well most of the time mods do delete things but some people are a little bit more secretive about it. obviously the mods arent going to able to catch everything. But i do know that if they do they will delete it. they arent going to catch it right when its posted either it might be a day so some times people will get away because theyve made the sale before they could find it. either way people dont like it, mods dont like, its a rule so follow it. theres always ebay youll get way more on there than here even if you do jack the price up. it really isnt that hard to figure out

As well, to the comment of "if you don't like capitalism, then leave the continent". Keep in mind that the foundations of Canada and the United States was too allow free expression of beliefs and actions. So by stating what he said, he is undermining the very foundations of what he is defending.

Let me clear this up.

I am by no means a communist. If you want to make money reselling ski gear, more power to you. I just dont think it should be done on this site. People come here for honest help.

That being said, if the guy wants to sell them for $90 shipped that's cool too...hell...I'd probably even buy them.

If he wants to start an auction...do it on ebay. If his story was/is true...he'd resell it for 90-100 shipped, first come first serve. I just object to auctioning off SAC items at 12:01. End of story.

Furthermore, I actually disagree with a rule that says we cant alert each other to a good deal on SAC. Yesterdays bindings didn't come close to selling out...and I wish everyone on here looking for a pair of good bindings could pick em up for $80.

I just think we should help each other out. That's what this site is for. Like it or not, this is a community...call it dysfunctional or whatever you want, but this isnt ebay. I disagree with lowballing to.

The point is...we're not here to screw each other over.

I want to believe the story...and I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. I'll believe that his brother couldnt come up with the money. I'll even pay $95 shipped. And you can bet you wont see me selling those bindings on ebay...they'll be on my skis.

and no one is callin you communist, my good sir. i was mearly stating that the rule about sac flipping was communistic in its ideals. some parts of this site are indeed corporate. that sh ow the the world functions. i may just go guy something of SAC and sell it for a profit of 200. and guess what, that person may still be able to get a sick deal, regardless of the fact that there was one yesterday, or w/e. it shouldnt matter.

so in summation:

 mods- dont delete threads unless they are negative and stupid

 fellow ns'ers- dont cry b/c u missed a sick deal and that person is still offering a fair deal,  you dont have to buy it!!!! let them act upon them selves. take care of your own shit and u will be just fine!! yay!

as for me... im gonna go enjoy a bowl  of apple jacks YUM YUM

Communism and Socialism is class and economical ideology, if anything this has more in common with a humanitarian anarcho syndiclist system. Really there is no command economy, there is no singular class basis, there is no trade and expansion plan.

why do you guys care so much that someone is earning a profit?? i bought a pair of those bindings and decided i needed another so just yesterday i made a thread saying i need someone to sell me some and i bought some for 125 shipped. yes he earned money and im glad, im also glad i didnt have to pay 200 for them normally. so i still got a good deal and he earned money. works for everyone. quit your bitchin
