Persuasive Essay
There it is, just around the corner. The most time you’ll spend with you’re unwanted relatives all year; you’ll be greasing elbows, passing the gravy, and spewing out the presents. Christmas. You’ve spent so much time – and time is money – on these tinsel wrapped goods that I bet you forgot who really matters. In spending so much time around the common man, it’s not hard to forget, and for that I forgive you. I am, of course, talking about man’s best friend. Since pets are adopted as true members of the family, we must keep up with the spirit of Christmas. In doing so, you cannot rightly ostracize one of your own.
I don’t know about you, but it’s been a while since someone just about flung a back flip with excitement due to my simple presence in a room. We’ve become so used to the consistent love of the furry friend, that we’re starting to take advantage. No more. Now ask yourself this: if Aunt Martha has forgotten your birthday for the past 5 years, Aunt Martha’s not going to be number one, now is she? Besides, we all know that the real fun in giving a gift is found in the surprise, and who better to surprise than one who cannot read a calendar.
Aside from never being disappointed, these animals have a memory span of about 6 weeks. Needless to say, you’re set to re-give the same chew toy, bone, collar, bed, and pat on the head you awarded last year for superb loyalty, but please, do not clothe your animals. By forcing animals into human clothing, we try to mold them into something they aren't. No amount of cute booties will change the fact that they roll in dead things.
