my bro got karmas and I'm gunna mount his look p12s on for him but the p12 brake is only 80mm and the karmas are 87mm. is it ok if I just grab and pull them apart cause i dont want to go thru and do the whole deal as shown in the tgr forums just for 7mm? I can see why just pulling them could be bad where the brakes bend around in the plastic but i dont think 7mm will do anyhting but hey who knows thats why im asking

I bent mine that way to fit around my Mike Nicks (86mm) ...so it should be fine, but they are heavy fuckin' duty, so you'll prolly still need a vise, or some tools that you can work with to do it. And do you know how to mount skis? Do you have a jig, the countersinking bits, a tap, and all other things needed to mount skis? Cause if you don't...don't mount them Fucking up Karma's is not the best way to make your brother like you, get a shop tech to do it, and if they mess it up, they own you new skis.

It's really easy to take the brakes off of the p-series bindings, you'll save yourself a lot of work by just taking them off and doing it. And if you think the tutorial on TGR will work you probably shouldn't mount them anyway, that's for race stock bindings.

^yea i thought of all that earlier (except for not mounting...ive mounted my own skis and some friends in the past...no i dont have the jigs and templates but if you do some careful measuring and other ghetto things it definitly works. its really not that hard and ive never had a problem) i dont wanna ask a shop to do it if im mounting the bindings...and yes id say its worth the 45 or whatever

seriously just spend the extra money for wider brakes. these bithches are heavey duty and if done wrong youl definatly break the plastic around the brake.

How much more do shops charge to bend the brakes usually? I am having a shop mount my new Karma's with Rosi FKS 155 bindings. I want it done right but I also want to make sure I'm not getting ripped off for the service.

i paid like 40bucks to bend my markers out to 130, but they also gave me a pair of reg binding as a back up if i pull them off the 130's

ours are more minor, so we should be fine but i guess its worth the shot to ask if theyll just do it for free. otherwise im doin it its only 7mm thats 4.5 per brake honestly how much can that screw things up if any

Just heat and bend, but do it slowly and carefully, or you'll be buying new brakes.
