I found a good deal on some 05/06 Elizabeths and was wondering if they would really suit my needs. I 've been looking at this ski for a while and thought it would be a good decision but would like some feedback. I live on the east coast, I ski decent amount of park but like to rip around groomers and pow is always awesome when its around. Im like 5"8' and 130 or so, will they be too wide? Ive heard they are awesome all around, but maybe some can post a review or something who was actually used them.
they are a super fun ski, if your just buttering around and doing slow spins and what not they could work, if you want to be spinning a lot on rails I would say go with a narrower waist ski
I just picked up a pair this year. I live in Utah and love them for all-mountain, and starting to realllly love them in powder too. They just take some adjusting for powder, I'm used to longer skis. I'll be skiing them at my home mountain on the east coast when I go home, plan on getting some stupid looks, but they are a lot of fun on groomers, they carve despite the width. They aren't my only skis however. Pretty much suck on moguls, choppy stuff, I avoid at all costs, that's not what they are for. I'm like 5'10 and 145. What else do you want to know?
How are they off jumps/rails? I have some Chronics right now, but they are pretty beat up. I just can't decide if they are too wide for the east? I skiied some moships last year, I can't remeber how wide they were but I liked them and they definatley added stability to landings.
there fine off jumps. there my all around ski at snowbird-alta.
they rock, and when i rarely slide rails and when its that bad that i have to slide rails and dick around all day i have some PRs
but not to hijack your thread, but when you guys sucked at rails, like every year did you like have to relearn that shit? cuz i do, but i mean i only session rails like 2-3 times a season, i mean fuck i ski snowbird-alta i would shoot myself if i did otherwise.
yeh...make sure when ur mounting, to put the bindings back a bit...i tried with the line bindings, and when they were too far forward, i was falling forward on landing
I live on the east coast too and I really wanted to buy these last year but I didn't want to pay the full price for a ski that wasn't going to be my primary ride. This summer I got a really good deal on them and bought them. I'm just gonna use them for messing around before we have a park, on powder days, and I'm gonna bring them to Utah in february. I'll post a review once we get snow.
mo ships are like 92 under foot, so add another 18mm under foot to that, kinda a big difference, but the elizabeth is a lot softer than the mo ships were
