Okay, i just ordered Volkl Karmas from Als Ski Barn, (who are amazing btw my skis arrived on my doorstep the day after i ordered them) and i had them mount my bindings for me. Now, on the site it asks whether you want park mounting, inbetween, or freeride. And i thought that park would mean true center, and i veered on the side of discretion and said in between. Now i've got them, and they're like, five inches back from center which is a lot farther than i wanted. Now I don't know if i should remount them, or leave them. Recommendations please!

5 inches is alot, I'd got about 1.5 if you plan on doing any park at all.

yeah these were going to be my park skis. Like 75% park 25% all mtn. Is remounting like a big deal? Can a good shop plug it well enough that you can't see it. Because i dont' plan on selling these any time soon, it just sucks that ive got a brand new pair, and might have to redrill them.

its not worth it, Skis are made with a recommended mounting point in mind for optimal performance. True center mounting is never the best option. If you look at a lot of skis you will see that they are thinner at the ends and thicker in the middle. If you center mount you will most likely be at a thinner part and not get the best skiing. All center does is prolly give some better swing weight and better switch skiing. Its not worth it to sacrifice most of that for regular skiing.

1.5 back is probably around "core center" which is where the core is the thickest. I wouldn't want to ski 75% park on a ski mounted that far back.
