Laptop as tv/monitor?

Is there any possible way that anyone knows to be able to hook up a video game system to a laptop so you can use the screen as a TV type of thing?   Maybe a monitor plug-in or an S-video cable type of thing?  I'm not talking an emulator or a capture card because its a laptop.  I know there are external capture cards and everything but I'm looking for a cord or converter plug or some sort.  I dont know if its possible but it would be cool.

No i dont think it is, you could use and s video from your laptop to a television to play computer games on a bigger screen. but it dosent go the other way around.

You can use a tv tuner.

It's mac only so I'm not sure if thats gonna help you but it lets me watch and record live tv plus I can connect to it with S-Video or composite video. It works pretty well for playing video games too. Recording video games doesn't work very well though.

You can get those for computers. Quite a few have cable jacks and splitters in them and you can get other add-ons. After that you can watch TV on your comp and get software to basically have a Tivo like thing goin.

So my HP laptop has an s-video jack. I have always wondered, how can I use this. Is it only video out, or can i like hook up a ps2 and use it on my laptop.

go onto ebay and type in USB LIVE and pick one up....you can turn ur laptop into a tv and record shows onto your computer and shit
