Last years look bindings are better than this years

i got my new skis today. scrtach fs wrs. i wanted look bindings, but was disappointed when i saw them. this year they have there heel pieces on a track like a normal binding, instead of having there pivot technology on front and back. the awesome advantage to having that heel piece is, when you land switch and your leaning back, the heel piece will stay in place, instead of in normal bindings where the heel piece is on a spring so it would pull back, in turn realsing you from the toe piece and eating shit. so we went through the trouble of tracking down a 05/06 look binding that was 275$. this binding is a race consrtuced binding, but is exactly the same as the freestyle besides this one has a din up to 12. he actually said the binding i got is used by pros in comps sometimes too.
so do you guys think it was necisary finding this binding? i think the technology they used was so sick and that they shouldnt havce dropped it

you got sick bindings, and sick skis (i just triend mine for the first time sunday) i got the new rossi(look im assuming is the same) and they look the same as last years to me. the ones from 2 years ago are still much better than what i got though.(were you turn the screw to adjust rather than sliding it)

well yea now most of them use "normal" heel pieces, but what you got was a race stock binding, i'm assuming fks12, they're super durable and actually still come with the pivoting heels even this year.

If i understand what you're saying, then you are wrong on the years part. look/rossi took away the pivot heels for last season. So, if you look for bindings from the 04-05 season that look and rossi made, they will all have the pivoting heels. (not talking about the novas and axiums)
Either way, ive heard the fks are solid, and i think that's what you're referring to, but you can get it for much cheaper.

There is a reason they went through all the trouble to make a new binding. They put 1000s into it because its better and they wouldnt stop selling one of the top selling bindings ever and replace it with something that is worse. The new bindings have increased foward pressure, more consistant release (eliminated that weird switch angle) and fit tighter to the ski. The binding you got is a completely different binding and can't really be compared. But if we are comparing, I wouldnt use that binding on a park ski like fs's. The fks don't have vertical release. So overall the "new" axial would have been a better binding for a park ski.

naw there's the fks 155 and fks 12 and the 12 has vertical toe release too, those would be my pick for park.

hate to break it to you but they droped the pivot heel 2 for last years line. The non-pivot px series is still a awsome binder, and you can still get the pivot series ones but for those you gota talk straight to look/rossi
