I live in NC and on the 3rd day on ma tnks the edge is dented in a gud bit and i already have cracks....All we have set up here in NC is a c box, 16 ft flat box, 1 ft high rail, plastic picnic table.......neone else had problems
hahah, yea right. before tanners skis, NO ONE detuned thier edges for rails.
that is the key tho. its just like keepin um sharp for carving. keep them round and deburred, they will hold up a TON better. but anyway, doesnt surprise me bout the edges, 4frnts are built like crap.
DEtune not tune. Detune would be, as multiple other people have said so maybee you should try reading, is when you dull out the edges under your boot so that it slides better on rails and other such features. The skis where new, sharp edges slide less well therefore there was more friction/forces etc. on them therefore they craked.
Make sure you understand before you post something else
tanner didnt invent detunes edges.
he invented steez.
Ive been detuning my edges since forever.
one good way is getting a tow in with no snow, free base grinds too!
Yes i did detune my edges!! the still cracked on the third day and dent in in a spot......so i think the tnks just have bad edges....and it was a 1 ft high flat bar rail.....
Sounds like an isolated problem. Are you slamming your skis onto the rail? Maybe yours are defective. Talk to the shop where you bought them, and see about a replacement. 3 days seems pretty short.
Dude i fucking know what detuning is. I'm fucking saying just because he didn't DETUNE his skis doesn't mean thats why his edges broke. Jesus fucking Christ.
Sounds like you just dont know how to hit a rail (you bash your shit together and on the rail alot) or you got a defective set of edges. Your first mistake was getting them from getboards...hehe..buy from a local place if you can, that way u can get replacements (if needed) quick.
god damn, i cant believe how many people yelled at you for not understanding when what you posted was correct. they all just repeated this in some sort of fashion.
calm down, 4frnt makes good skis but any ski on rail will break . Plus, instead of making a thread here, you should have emailed 4frnt to see if they can do something...
thats a stupid f*cking thing to say taht they started detuning skiis when the T's came out, ive been detuning my park skiis for 4 seasons because i thought it made sense too.
and back to the TNK's edges... you probaly got a defected ski, cause the 4FRNT's edges are strong as hell, I shredding the shit out of my MSP's all season long in the park and i only had 3 cracks and i sold them for a good price cause the edges were great still.
jea ive i got a friend with 2 year old stls that he rode hard all season on rails and doesnt have any cracks.....also 4frnt warranty says that if the skis are ridden on anything but snow and the edges are messed up its not covered.......
i have the tnk's and they're so much fun and all bit my edges have probably 10 cracks in them and they are lifting out of the ski around the cracks and they've fallen out on one of my skis on one side. and i detuned them like crazy before i even used them.
I have the STL's and have like 5-10 rough railing days on them, and they're holding up fantastic, and last season I was on a pair of 180 MSP's and they held up 1 season with railing, like 70 days on snow and rails, and I didnt get one crach, not one. So saying that 4FRNT edges sucks is equal to pooping on your leg and say that it feels awesome.
What you can do:
Email 4FRNT, you probably got a defect pair, plus your got them from Getboards, which I've heard gets defected skis etc so just send a mail and see what happens.
Good luck nigga...
^done that, sent pics and everthing, the guy couldnt tell me one way or another of they would even b warrantied, from what he wrote is sounded as if they wouldnt, and that id end up paiyng for them to be shipped, then pay to be shipped back and i would have lost cash!
