i am getting a good deal on both of them (350 each) i ski like 60% all mtn/pow and 40% park. when i ski all mtn. i charge, and am pretty hard core, so i want a good park and all mtn. flexing boot. i heard theat the foil is a sick all around boot but i dont know about the flek being good enough for all mtn. comments?
why not spk? they have the same flex index as the foils. I don't see why you'd get foils instead of sps for just about any type of skiing, unless the foils fit you better although they really are super similar fitting boots.
umm...they ski completely different even if the plastic is the same softness, SPKs fit like a shoe, and are a bit sloppy when it comes to charging, while foils are more tradional fit. also the lack of forward lean in SPKs changes how they ski, and is something im not a fan of. and yes as nomen said, go to a bootfitter, krytons and foils ae nothing alike fit wse, figure out wwhich is the coirrect fit for you and get it.
I wish I could actually contribute but I've never actually put on any rampages since no shops around me have them... but from my knowledge compiled mostly due to my ns addiction I would say that they are narrow and foils are definately on the wider side of things so it is kinda strange that they both fit, maybe one is a little too wide and one a little too narrow?
yea man. neither fit remotly similar. however, the krypton is a WAY better boot if you neglect fit issues. not only can the flex pretty easily be knocked up to raceboot stiff with a lil plug, but they are SUPER adjustable. and oh yea, the rampage sucks. get the cross. exact same boot with a way better liner in it. you can also get new, stiffer tongues for bout free.
as for the salomons, the foil is a far better boot than the SPK, which is a normal boot with tons of hype pumped into it. the only reason to buy it is the bottle opener buckles. the foil aint a bad boot, but if you want higher all mountain preformance as well, check out the guns from last year or the new falcons. both are super sick, and pretty good park boots. you may have to do some tweakin to get them to take the impacts you want, but thats pretty easy.
and, 350 aint that good of a deal. pretty much retail.
